I would go for one UAD-1 dsp-card solution, or the TC PoCo-platform. I run UAD-1 myself, with Reason 3 (in Live 5.x, with Kontakt, Intakt, Absynth, Reaktor etc.), and would prior the UAD-1 card if I had to.

YES!!! I got 2Gb of RAM (fast 3200ll - 400mhz), and that's worth every penny, man! Load it all into RAM-mode, and forget about memory-worries

I agree, Lo-Fi Massahkah! No good to fill Live up with stuff like that - I use WaveLab myself to edit my loops/clips, and can't see the need at all for what qoile ask for!
