Im not excited about it in the slightest guaranted you will have a hard time fitting the sounds in the mix except for a minimal song. I think theres better out there thats cheaper and better sounding. this is all reminds me when i was tied in to logic buying all their extra paid softs and then one d...

this topic comes up a lot. i think it would be good if ableton supplied test specs for running live on various computers displaying typical track and plugin count. there is far to much unknowns going on here and theres never any answer. some people say they get great performance but i dont believe t...

Same for me. Nothing you can do other than inconvenient pedantic work-arounds, which I don't do. For some of us, It simply won't follow our flow. That said, I strictly write in Live for creative creation only. A few tracks, almost no plugins other than the freaky ones and i'll record those mostly. ...

drum racks is good actually
shcok horror the evil one thinks drum rack is good and combined with sidechaining makes the upgrade a little more pleasing. i have not tried the beta just saw the video. i give ableton 8/10 for drum racks and 9.98 for the sidechaining implementation because its like logic and pro tools.

   Didn't make it into Live 7 I guess  No it didnt despite the numerous threads asking for this feature including this one. But Ableton said they added in the most requested features. Its a bitter pill to swallow they have added in sidechain my second most wanted feature but t...

Re: BABY ABLETON?
above all, I like the session view. it's a new way of thinking about music; composition, improvisation, all your ideas in neat little boxes. it has helped me to investigate theoretical ideas about basic musical structure, eg different lengths of bar, areas of harmony. It's much better than a sheet ...

Re: nice legs, shame about the face
that looks like a really cool app but MAN that's a horrible GUI. It's giving me headache just looking at jpegs of it. how can you say that? it look just about the same as lives arrange view. Do you think session view filled with 100 smarties coloured square boxes looks fantastic? you dont feel like...

Re: nice legs, shame about the face
within a year or two this software is going to give all the daw companies something to worry about . Its completely open source with updates almost weekly and you can find a huge amount of plugins for it all free. I have been invited by my local authority to advise them on software for some of their...

Beta Testers give us an opinion on sidechain

well, that's just silly. many people wouldn't want the orchestral stuff, and they certainly wouldn't want to be forced into paying for it. Unless you are suggesting that Ableton give it away. Which isn't going to happen is it? I don't see how that one-size-fits-all approach is better wait a minute ...

I haven't tried the beta yet but the only thing I'm disappointed with the update is the 128 limit thing. At least we should be able to select which parameters we want to automate even if the limit is 128. Some of my wishes came trough like the time sig, sidechaining, multiple lane, slicing. Rex fil...

Ableton have pissed off more people than they have pleased with Live 7. Says who?? You're stating this like it's a fact, when it's really just an opinion. And a wrong one at that. Yeah I was going to question this those of us who are quite involved have been remarking how smooth this year is going ...

Re: I'm a bit worried about Ableton...
Hi, I've just checked that Live 7 will be released soon. As Logic 8 and Reason 4, Ableton have to make new version too. ... But : everything done for the next level will be put in an update. As I'm an owner of Live since version 4, I've pid for version 4, 5 and 6 (each time : 99 € !) All I see in v...
