theofficialz: i like kid massive's 'islandbreeze' - listening now - are you involved with that? nice mix, very crisp. the .mov is re-compressing - the last pass bombed. shortly. djsynchro: my decision to post huge files was carefully considered. i know that it seems as if i am dissing those with dia...

configuring your hot bitch arsenal

my new band, 'hot bitch arsenal', does live-looping with ableton live. all the music at http://www.hotbitcharsenal.com was composed/recorded over the last three weeks using ableton live. the process of making music with ableton is so easy, and so natural that i am producing 2-3 solid, quasi radio-fr...

i've experimented a bit more - i do see the time sig for each clip, and when i'm working in 5/4 the clips are marked as 5/4. however, when live looping nothing seems to line up. even if i happen to get the first loop right, i have never been able to get a second loop to be in sync. anyone doing this...

anyone out there working in 5/4, 6/8, etc?

i've been trying to work with odd meters to no avail.

setting the time signature to 5/4 or 6/8 does affect the metronome, but clips recorded in session view don't quantize. then things get even more confusing.

help! a fairly thorough scan of the manual turns up nothing on time signatures.

jane says and various bits of wankage (live looping video)

a bit of virtual banjo, a tiny red toy key-tar, some pitch correction software and ableton live are all it took to make this cover of "jane says": http://www.iosonic.com/video/janesays.mov (quicktime) http://www.iosonic.com/video/janesays.wmv (windows media) it is utterly amazing how much ...

how are you guys specifying which clip ctrl-k will delete?

this has always been the problem for me - i may have started other loops and so the current clip is not always the clip that deserves deletion.

thanks. i'm kim, the guy behind the scenes doing the looping. andrea is the vocalist. the two vids are the same, just different formats for quicktime/windows media.

i've just gone thru 2 reinstalls and i can say for sure that the acpi thing (turning it off!) is worth doing. i have been tweaking my system to accomodate a edirol firewire fa 101, and killing acpi got my latency down to 3ms. i'm not sure that you can do this with a laptop. (the acpi stuff is involv...

watermelon man live looping acapella video

andrea nettleton-kirkman of atlanta, ga handles all of the vocals here, doing a pretty damn accurate rendition of herbie hancock's watermelon man.

looped live with live.

not that i'm lazy (well, okay), but would you mind emailing me an als file with these settings? i'd love to try it on different acoustic instruments.

thanks,
