Hi rdolmat,
you can do all the audio stuff in live6 (for my taste multitrack-recording its much better and easier than in cubase)
For working on Midi Tracks i still prefer cubase.

sample libraries
Hi all, there already was some discussion in the Beta Forums on this topic: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48434 When importing GIGA instruments you have to be aware that you may loose all the GIGA Specialities like the legato features. Also the control of filters and ADSRs via specifi...

Hi mattsonic,
i just checked out your http://sonictransfer.com site - absolutely great ! For sidechaining i prefer the vanilla compressor but i'll try the one you suggested.

GIGs
Hi Tlacuache, since beta 12 i'm fiddeling around with sampler. Before i had Gigsatudio and an AKAI Z8. My actual knowledge is: When importing Samples from a .GIG file sampler extracts the original .wav files from the .gig file and converts them to .aif Files. The extracted files and the presets go t...

Hi Martucio,
depends on your music and skills. If you're not in "building your own sample libraries" i'd take the Essential Instrument Collection.
With other sample disks (like from http://www.bestservice.de/ ) you have to make some additional adjustments in Live.

Hi nosuch, In 2005 Terratec wanted to create a "high quality producer line", the MIC8 Firewire was one of the flagships (8 spl Preamps inside). But the product was too expensive (1,2K) so they took it off the market. I strongly recommend to use Firewire instead of USB Soundcards , really i...

RAM
Hi fatrabbit, The method is quite simple: Take a look in the documentation of your motherboard. It says: up to XYGB DDR (PC2700 / DDR333). The specs of you new RAM must be identical to the PCXXXX and DDRXXX specs of your Motherboard. If there's no documantation, open the PC, take a look at the mothe...

crack
Live's worth the money you pay for it, very fiendly stuff, so there's no need to crack.
For testing, I only cracked the whole ILOCK Hardware Protection (but i informed all the manufacturers about it).

Hi, quite a difficult question, here's my experience: If I "lost" money and time in the past i lost them by searching for a good audio interface. The vendors of those pieces try to make the customers believe that there is "quality" for a few Euros, thats definately wrong. After f...

Missing Samples
Hi Friedemann, same here but also a very "funny" effect: I had Live 5.2 on 2 machines, one live rack, one studio daw. On the studio daw i additionally installed most of the betas, all of the daw's have their libraries in a separate "root based" folder. After upgrading to 6.01 no ...

Hello aabuniaj, lot of tips, each is good. But with mics it's like with woman. Some have ugly ones but they fit together, others have fat ones and so on. Means that the mic has to fit to your voice and musical style. I tried some shures and some sennheisers. For me (deeper voice) sennheiser 865 was ...
