I wouldn't trust playing live through an M-Audio interface. Not if your reputation depends on it. What Sound Card would you recommend buddy!?!?! I'm being told RME or PreSonus but I'm not convinced this is the root cause. Thanks for the input. I'll push on here. I was using a Yamaha 01V, and never ...

+1.

IMO, that's what music's all about.

And the talented performers with solid business acumen and common sense will thrive financially.

The talent lies in knowing when change is to improve, and when change is just change for the sake of change. When it's good enough, it's time to stop and move on.

It's one reason that songwriters and musicians have producers.

It's all been done. There's only so many permutations and combinations of regurgitated dance elements.

The only tool an artists needs is his mind. The rest is relatively insignificant. In the end, it doesn't matter what limitations are thrown at us (lack of Firewire, bad audio OS, whatever), maybe what really makes us musicians/producers/visionaries is not searching for the perfect system to make mu...

Not surprised here, and IMO not worth crying about. Apple have always been ahead of the game regarding outdated standards (SCSI, floppies), and in the end, the foresight prevailed. Watch the number of USB peripherals that follow. Firewire is still on the new MBP. It's also available as ExpressCard/34.

The two-tiered socioeconomic system here is a bit of a shock. I didn't expect such a huge gulf between rich and poor. I really don't like the way the TCNs (third-country nationals) have to be subservient just for their job security. And the way I've seen some Westerners treat them in public makes my...

Me? Conservative? Nah. Just respectful of the culture of others, especially when I'm a guest in their country.

And I'm an undecided borderline agnostic/athiest!

I'm glad to be here. Interesting culture and people, great geographic location, tons of activities, great job, fantastic food, plenty of tax-free cash. And I'm responsible enough to learn and respect the local culture. I wish I could say the same for other Westerners around here. I am so glad that I...

I didn't do it... nobody saw me do it... you can't prove a thing! But seriously, folks... the sex on the beach case is a big issue here. I'm glad to see that they're making an example of ignorant Western offensive behavior. Today I was having lunch in a room with some Emaratis when some Hulk Hogan r...
