sorry but, you luddites are so far up you'r own arses you don't know you'v been born. Ableton has revolutionised creative audio productivity for the likes of me; and countless others. so what if you don't like/want/need 'Operator', 'Ableton live' is by far is the most liberating software I have ever...

thinking of upgrading the ram in my powerbook 550mhz, i have 256mb at the moment. if i put in 1gb of ram will this make a marked difference? or should i just buy a new pc laptop...?? love mac but my current powerbook is getting a little tired as i'm pushing it to its limits with ableton and vst's.. ...

i get a hi pitched noise when using kontakt as a vsti in ableton 4, this starts as soon as i trigger a note and stops only when i delete the kontakt vsti from the vsti window. (this is not the only vsti that does this (muon tau, Tau Pro, neon). any ideas?

thanks, tried a long release time in simpler but no luck. I have problems with Kontakt within ableton, a high pitched sound every time i trigger a sample..?
I think its the alesis D4 that causes the majority of problems...still searching..

os9 is completely stable for my needs, and yes; I probably will use os9 in 10 years, just like I still use my vintage drums cos they sound great. Creativity with sound & production doesn't need the newest technology to be 'good', os9 still has more than enough headroom to last me a decade, if no...

still using os9 with 3rd party vst's and vsti's & have no problems with live 4. dont see any viable reasons to switch to osx, 'if its not broke don't fix it?'

will live 4 have greater compatibility with the mackie standard
controllers/control emulation? would be great to be able to fully use the tascam fw 1884 for full midi surface control as well as its audio card functions. mmmmm
