I copied this from the manual. I am confused as to why you want to record in Live while slaving it to DP. I would think you should want to record with DP from Live as the slaved source. Can you clarify what you are trying to accomplish? I don't really understand because I always use Live as the Mast...

For many users the lack of midi is not a problem because Live has excellent Rewire implementation. It is meant to be used with Reason or any other Rewire capable application. If I need strings or piano or whatever I just use Reason and run it along side Live until I'm ready to render to disk. This i...

2.03 BUG
Try this simple test!
While you are actively recording a clip, click "undo create clip" from the Edit menu and then watch what happens. Did you crash? If so, please reply to this post.

I don't know. I was merely suggesting that it sounds possible to sync PT Free and Live using midi because I have used midi and a standalone drum computer with both programs. You will have to research the details for yourself. Digidesign has a wonderful online knowledge base. Ableton has provided a g...

You are right. That is an old question. And has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum. But for the sake of the boolean search challenged. Reason does everything that the above mentioned apps can do and Reason does it more simply and more reliably and better (IMHO). Reason rewired with Live can do ...

I use Live for composing songs. I no longer use Cubase or Logic because they make my workflow too slow and their audio editing capabilities are too limited compared to Live.

The Motu 828 works great for me. The new OSX drivers are very stable on the latest 10.2.4 update. Latency is very low and the preamps are not bad. You get 8x i/o and phantom power so you can use a condensor mic for acoustic stuff. Comes with a free version of their multitrack software called Audiode...

This is the exact feature I asked about in the wishlist (or was it bugs?) forum. It would be sooo cool to manipulate the transpose feature with MIDI. If it could be chromatically mapped to a midi keyboard think how cool that would be. Please, God I hope Ableton sees this thread and can create this f...

I am so glad to hear Datagroove say this. There are plenty of other programs that do VSTi/MIDI. LIVE is all about working with AUDIO. Personally I am bored with VSTi/MIDI. If I need to add a synth I have Reason. If you want to work with VSTi/MIDI get Cubase. Any development time should be spent on m...
