Frank, thanks for reply, As a newbie, I see that neither Ableton nor IK multimedia mention each other on their respective websites. I already contacted Ik Multimedia and I'm still awaiting for an answer. I work in a software company so you have all my understanting, sometimes it's difficult to repr...

djsynchro,

which plug-ins are you talking about? Please send me a link to them.

Frank

P.S: Still wondering why you guys don't contact the plug-in developers to fix the problem.

Re: A Little off topic

It seems to me we're going off topic without helping..... I only wanted to know : Why IK Multimedia Products are not listed in the VST known program list, because there is need to. Which VST is best to use with Live? (I need Pianos,Bass,Guitar,Pads)? It seems that Live guys do not pay attention to ...

Thanks for the quick reply Frank, I have started a thread about the drop-down menu issue on kvr-vst.com's energy XT forum as well and Jorgen has said he is looking into it. Hopefully he will contact you as well to look into the issue. The reason it may be an issue with Live is because it doesn't ha...

Interesting concept. So the whole and only purpose the "auto-oscillating parameter" can ever have is to be switched off. I would prefer the plug-in not to publish a useless parameter.

I don't blame anybody, but I would like you to understand the following: 1) a VST host on Windows has no control or influence on how a plug-in handles it's window or windows, except for resizing the main window and closing the main window, which is not the case here, if I got it right. There is abso...

Can you tell me if you have the problem when you install the plug-in into two different tracks as well?

Still I have to say that plug-ins that oscillates their parameters: 1) do this in every host and create in trouble in every host, except in hosts that don't have automation recording and/or undo. 2) there is absolutly no change since Live support VST with that, nothing got worse in Live 5. 3) it is ...

Maybe XT2 will be more usable, not that the problem resides with Jorgen, but most likely with Ableton.
Why do you think so?

Who said that? This is not our policy and nobody at Ableton ever said that. I am sure.

My theory was that Audio Units might be more tightly integrated into Core Audio and enjoy some kind of optimizations that VSTis don't. By the same logic VSTis could offer better performance than AUs when used with ASIO. No, there is no advantage at all. Would it be possible to compare the VSTi and ...

In theory you could get better performance from AUs than VST on the Mac, but that depends on the plug-in host. Why do you think so? I have no indication for that. I would say that VST is slighty faster because AU has a higher call overhead, but that isn't significant. Please proof me wrong. Frank
