i LOVE it..!! i'm using it in conjunction with VDMX and there is a lot of good work going on within the VDMXers with synced sound to picture stuff using QC. My little projects so far (i'm by no means an expert, quite the opposite) have included a histogram info to midi, so a live video input (or a p...

i think its partly to do with the fact that i've recently got my head into Quartz Composer, which seems very logical to me now (and i got a few great starting pointers from some great screencasts), but Max seems a bit more low level and hence confusing. I need a very empty weekend and no hangover to...

i would love to see more (some/any) video tutorials for Max MSP (particulary 5). As good as i think the new tutorials are i still think i learn the basics a lot better from a person showing me whats what.. I know that MAX isn't like photoshop or even live, but i still think Video tutorials would be ...

Very very likely.. Live is doing all kinds of caching and swapping when playing back all that audio, so i reckon its that. Its always good advice to keep at least 10 % of your hard disk free if you're doing any kind of audio/video work, and Live is certainly no exception. Clear off the crap or buy a...

remember when the press were following him about and he locked himself out of his own house?   just goes to show. Well maybe Ken shouldn't have made it 8 quid to drive through town But the roads are better. Not perfect, but better. Loads of money has gone into pedestrian only zones...

on a kaossilator tip, i knocked up something similar for my padkontrol last year, based on a suzuki omnichord. the xy acts as a strum plate and the pads as chord selectors, so you can play it like a really unconvincing ukulele. just made a vid for the lulz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QGAZuSWq7...

i'm playing with the MAX 5 demo and i'm enjoying it alot.. BUT.. i still recommend Quartz Composer to anybody wanting to get into (free) patching for a Visual environment.. it really is fantastic and as well as being realtime, it takes input (and some output) from midi, OSC, Video Input, Mouse, HID ...

I feel your pain! I simply have too much as it is, but Jitter bundled in it's around $565 or so, and all the decent MIDI controllable Mac VJ software is at least $350! So I get Max/MSP for a little over $200! How's that for validating my gear lust! That, and I could sell Reason 2.5,...
