Would somebody be so kind as to help a MAX n00b?

Its for a good cause, my uni course.... Im a real beginner here, but Im willing to learn. Or at least willing to try and learn. We dont have to use max at uni but theres some great stuff that I want to do, more for my own benefit than anything else. Anyway, what I need to know is how to use 'externa...

Yeah same deal here man, with my Fireface400. Oh and same applies for switching to the Fireface from the internal sound card, or whatever else I was using. Soundflower, for example. Sometimes changing the latency/buffer on large sets just causes Live to *disappear*. So I have to make sure I change e...

Lives. We play along to a tempo track (lives metronome). I actually have a set of dummy MIDI clips that trigger the recording of audio loops at certain points during the set. But thats by-the-by!

Sorry to be inconclusive/unclear!
Basically we record while the tempo is increasing. That includes pressing 'return' while the tempo is ramping. Like a steady increase over a number of bars.
Does that make sense? :)

Tempo increase = Audio transients bug?

Hello everybody, Ive been playing again with my band, and noticed that all the instruments we play into live have developed (or we never noticed before really) transients, or dropouts, whenever we play with a tempo that increases or decreases. Its actually quite weird, and sounds kind of like a gati...

Again, agreed. I cant get OSCulator to show up in any other program/host. Im guessing its a failed install or somethign, but then again, you drag and drop it to applications. What could have gone wrong? I used to use it fine until a few days ago when i upgraded to leopard. But I know Im not the only...

Hi gents, any idea why Live won't recognize my Osculator? I had Osculator and Live up and running last winter, but now as I tried to install this on my new lappie, the osculator won't appear in Lives drop box. Wii is paired and I can see the lights flashing in osc. I also tried the preset patches f...

I did similar and went from a MacBook CD2 2.0 to a current gen 24" iMac 2.8. It accomplished what I wanted, i.e. higher res, slightly faster CPU, expansion to 4GB RAM over 2GB with the MacBook, snappier loading from the local HDD.. but - i think for your needs I would be looking at a Mac Pro t...

Yeah I was thinking that might be the case. Have you used both machines by the way? Any thoughts on a potential speed increase the iMac might have?

Yeah man, Ive seriously downsized everything , to the point where Ive even mixed all samples down to mono, 8bit. The real crunch is that we play a load of 'real' instruments (cello, violin, guitar, bass etc) through the computer and have automated and real-time FX on the respective channels. Obvious...

Core Duo 2.0 Macbook to iMac, any experience?

Hey people, my bands laptop (a 2.0 macbook with 2gig of ram) is starting to really suffer badly with the new projects we're coming up with. I was just wondering if anyone here has upgraded from a macbook to an imac of around 2.8 or the 3.06 ghz models, and what their experience was.... Is it worth m...

[quote="garyboozy"]hehe.. yea that's me. i used midiPipe to convert cc1 (sent from the pK's xy pad) into note-on data, then made a midi effect rack to control note length and scales, etc. the bottom 4 pads are used to select the different scales (mapped to the 4 chains in the rack). just p...
