I've just noticed that autofilter's beat quantize only works when you move the frequency from hi to low,
try to move your frenquency from low to high and the change happens immediately, not quantized.
More noticeable in Hp/Lp setting.

Of course it will void your warranty, but mine has no seals on the outside, and if you'll do that carefully with a good screwdriver and don't solder around at the inside I doubt they'll notice the opening. Do other firewire interfaces still work on your Mb? You could also try to install the firewire driver described in this thread by nonnus, we had some problems with our echo audiofire card and that solved the issues for us. Have you tried to download the latest firmware update froMaudio.
Perhaps a reflash can help,
I've had a few problems too on my Macbook with an older driver and firmware when I went from 10.4.6 to 10.4.8 OS X.

No, sorry! I've send it back immediately, as it allows only one stereo signal on both main and headphones out, so it was unuseable for cueing. I think the inputs should work after some fiddling, but can't remember. My advice: Try to sell it and get something with usb2 support or fw, the usb1.1 limit...

what external gear do you record?
A decent preamp could do wonders for all stuff of recordings you want to do.

Did you look into the console,
there you can set the sensitivity to -10 or +4
for the analog channel on the left?
It works fine over here with my preamp.

White filter is great,
I'm listening to dont look back right now,
this one could have a bit of proper mastering,
it sounds a bit thin on the monitors.
