Re: Recommend audio midi interface for new macbook pro (retina)
That's good news. Thanks! I just ordered a couple. I'm confident that I can use 'em for external FireWire drives I've got. I'm really eager to find out how the Firebox works on it--that'll be a big help if. I use the Firebox's power adapter, so I don't mind if the Thunderbolt+FW cabling fails to pro...

Recommend audio midi interface for new macbook pro (retina)
Can you recommend a good audio midi interface for new macbook pro (retina)? I got one issued to me by my groovy job, and I have to give back the old one. The new one doesn't have FireWire, so I can't use my (very awesome) PreSonus Firebox anymore. The Firebox is perfect for me, except that now I can...

Re: audio clip export
Perfect! Just what I needed to know, saved me some time. I found 'em in Live's browser and dragged 'em to a folder on my Mac.nicholaspaul wrote:...to make a wav of each clip, all I do is freeze the track. Done. In my project folder, is a wav file of each clip, under Samples/Processed/Freeze.
Thanks!

Re: select "Momentary" or "Toggle" for MIDI Note Mapping
Hard to believe you can't have a midi controller button simply engage an effect as long as it's pressed down & disengage when let go as a part of Live midi mapping. Let's have this please! That's actually what Ableton Live does in response to a button press on my Roland VG-99: it'll engage an e...

Re: select "Momentary" or "Toggle" for MIDI Note Mapping
+1 :) I want Ableton Live to have this. I've got a MIDI controller assigned to the on/off of an effect on a Live track, but it only works Momentary. I need Toggle. Can't change the controller's output. Ableton Live is software. IMO, the option should be in Ableton Live, in software. Maybe make it so...

Re: Freezing/flattening MIDI clips for juggling beats.
Why not do this with midi? Just create a "Follow Action Template", where each step triggers the next slice and drag it to your library. Now if you slice a loop, just drag the follow action group back in the sliced track. http://www.mediafire.com/?wbvo716h80r4130 Mother, that's frikn aweso...

Re: Getting feedback from resonater when turned on - removable?
How about duplicating the track, and deleting one resonator from each... then cross-fade from one to the other when you want to switch? Or switch one track off, the other on, or automate each track's level?

Pitch bend MIDI effect: remaps pitch bend
Idea/Request: A MIDI effect called Pitch Re-Bend *. It's like the Scale plugin, but for pitch bend, and it's simpler to use. It has 2 functions: 1. It overrides incoming pitch bend as if your instruments were all set with a different pitch bend range . If you have an instrument rack with 10 botillio...

Re: mac osx lion and its effects on LIVE
If Resume, Auto-Save and Version work together flawlessly with Live, we would never lose our undo history. Or any work for that matter. Probably wouldn't even need Undo history recall depending on how well and fast the Version feature works. Wow, it could happen. But we will need gobobytes more sto...

I just bought touchAble this weekend, and used it on the home WiFi net. Awesome, just awesome. I was up way too late Saturday night/Sunday morning, just playing with it.

Re: Remebering MIDI mappings
I think 2 ideas might help here: 1. MIDI mappings in Ableton Live are stored in each Live Set. So if you set up some mappings you like, save that set, and use it as a starting point. 2. "how I change channels through using the buttons on the keyboard rather than selecting them with the mouse&qu...
