I gather that means that we will have to pay for yet another version? You always will have to pay for major improvements, since they require major development work. Quality is a good thing to wish for, even better is the quality of thinking at ableton. Thanks! I'm looking forward to this redesign, ...

Hmm... am I getting your request totally wrong? Forgive me, but if you let the clip play at its 'native' (original) bpm, it is for sure warped. To have it run unsynced, I usually choose 'LOOP', 'WARP' on a clip and set one warp marker as '1' at the beginning of the first wave form and skip (if any p...

Well done Ableton team, Nice evoloutionary step for the software. Adding more of the that fluid workflow mechanics with the clip automation and enhancing the creative possibilties and workflow. Makes me a big fan . Me too, me too! I am not at all disappointed (BTW: by what I haven't seen yet). Desp...

advantages of public beta
As lucky as I am for now none of these problems occured for me using 2.1.1 on: WinXP Pro Dual CPU 1GHz Intel (VIA chipset) 1Gb RAM Matrox G550 RME Multiface (in multiclient ASIO along with Reaktor or whatever) UAD1 But there's so many possible setups with any platform, there isn't a company out ther...

all selected clips into new scene
Oh please you abletons, I pray for this several times within every minute while working in session view: option to put all selected clips into a new seperate scene. drag and drop is so ... unLIVEly here. Bring this on as soon as you can or make it at least a hidden feature ;) Another one still on my...

How would I keep my DVD encoder from looking at my Premiere soundtrack? It would be pretty hard to edit sound linked to video without putting the tracks in Premiere. Agreed. I'd use Magix Samplitude for synchronizing and adjusting audio with video, wich is just superiour compared to anything else w...

I always allow for as much headroom as possible when it comes to wordlentgh. In other words, raising gain on 24bit tracks and then going back to 16bit may have less impact (i.e. truncated bits) depending on the calculations used by your audio tool. Staying inside the 16bit domain throughout the proc...

I saw recent rep demos of Logic, Sonar, Cubase and Vegas Pro specifically looking at Dolby Digital 5.1 mixing. Only Logic and Vegas Pro had 5.1 'facilities', Cubase could save to 5.1 audio files but no mixing facilites, and Sonar didn't have anything. The Sonar rep. said they were waiting for the s...

Re: ????????????????????????????
Dunno, but there's already something smelly about this absolute will to be superiour and the way it is promoted.dpel wrote:do you think the G5 supports fish sandwich mode?
dpel
The first one who finally owns the G5 may post a usual LIVE benchmark, and we'll compare - if we're interested.

bad reputation
It is people like you, Alternatives, who give mac users a bad reputation of being totally incompetent and ignorant and egocentric. Did you do at least a little research about what you are saying? Move over to N-I and have a look at the trouble users of Mac OS are in, move over to Steinberg, ah, move...

Simple as that: What you have in your soundfolder is not *clips*, it's the *samples* you where using for creating clips. Very important difference! So if you rename a clip, you rename a clip, not a sample, makes pretty much sense, for instance, if there's several different clips deriving from one s...

I used to think I'd need an wave editor in LIVE, I don't think so anymore. BTW it would bring up more confusion than it would save time for switching. But what I would really like to see is an option to trim clips in a self-contained set. For me this would fulfill my need for certain convenience in ...

Sample-cropping with self-contained sets
Like scene-coloring this might have already come up several times, but anyways. I usually save every set as self-contained. While I work with Samplitude too, I find a very useful option there: Save as Project (same as self-contained in LIVE) wich corresponds with Trim Objects (same as clips in LIVE)...

Scene-coloring
The coloring and naming logic of clips always occured somehow awkward to me. Anyway, today I thought, if - in the session view - all is about distinguishing different scenes, because they contain certain clips, it wouldn't be necessary to distinguish clips but the scenes with these certain clip sets...
