Welcome to reality! I think it is just not realistic to expect a complex program with a complex GUI never to crash. I have ALMOST never seen Live crash on my iBook and PowerMac. I think that is quite good and as far as it gets. What you need for playing live is a couple of strategies how to cope wit...

Optimizing for a good mono sound
I've composed a song for a podcast using the EIC grand piano, drums (DFH) and a bit of reverb. Everything sounds fine.
But when i convert to mono (for saving bandwidth in the podcast) using a utility with width set to 0%, it sounds a bit dull.
What can I do to get a better sound in mono?

Anybody using the Schoeps MK41g for recording music?
Is anybody here using the Schoeps MK41g for recording musical instruments? If so, how do you like it? I'm planning to get one for video work (indoor voice recording) primarily and can't decide whether to get it with cut-1 or cut-2.

I love my old remotes. I have a 25 and a 61 and they have the best unweighted keys that I've seen so far. If you need the portability, the 25 is a good choice. But 2 octaves simply aren't enough. Especially if you want to play something that is not in C major, minor, ... That's why I bought the 61 l...

Mackie Control is a protocol. It's aim is to allow a very flexible way of communication between a device implementing the Mackie Control protocol (MCP) and a DAW like Live. MCP is bidirectional, which means that data can flow in both directions: If you have an external device that implements the MCP...

hi all, the first time you open an EIC instrument, live has to analyze all samples after the instrument was loaded (creating asd-files). this can take a while and can cause a 100% cpu usage you see in the task manager but not in live's cpu meter. live's cpu meter just shows the cpu usage required f...
