does the looperlative really offer all the echoplex features (as mobius does)? i know that, initially, it didn't, which is why i didn't get it. i've looked at the site, it's hard to tell how much it can do. hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

this is why musicians -- sorry, "artists" -- whine, rather than just getting on with it. you're admitting you're about commerce, just aren't happy about the current rules of the game. hate to break it to you, but you've got it so much better than all the true "artists" completely...

i love the person who claims to love the sound of the prophet, but not the mopho. um, you do know the mopho is just one voice of the prophet, right (with subosc)? so if you love the sound of the prophet, you love the sound of the mopho? i agree with all those saying just go with what sounds good to ...

yes, mopho does superwarm boards-type sounds (even if that's not what the samples showcase), i really cannot believe the sound/functionality for the price (by which i mean, it's making me wonder how you can justify paying thousands for something that doesn't sound any better, but maybe has some keys...

not to be rude, but who cares? it's not the machine that's going to get you there (admittedly, certain fx or reaktor ensembles may get you half way).

you really, really want the UW (if you get an MD), it's just awesome (even though, on paper, didn't seem like something i needed).

or cut out the middleman/person/child, pawn something pricey, and get a machinedrum (which autechre uses live, check the elektron site for more).

i'd get a DSI mopho before the moog (i'm no expert, but think the sounds are pretty much indistiguishable, so the price differential makes all the difference (you could get the evolver and the mopho in place of the moog)).

there's this little thing called the global financial crisis that's strengthening the dollar against everthing but the yen, so DSI's dollar priced instruments are going up in pounds.

lots of people love the joe meek alternative. and i wasn't suggesting that spending tons is worth it for most people, just always find it odd that this seems to be an overlooked, but critical, part of signal chain for people who want to get into more serious recording (e.g., people will worry endles...

millenia STT-1. why? if you're doing serious vocal or instrument, there's still no SW that comes close to a really good HW channel strip, and most sound cards aren't enough on their own (they're pres may be transparent enough, but generally won't color the sound the way people expect on certain type...

don't forget the MM -- i would have a hard time choosing between the 2, actually get great drum sounds out of the MM (not just the sampled ones), though it takes some work. though, at end of day, i'd have to go with MD for the UW.

no, not a toy. friend of mine just got rid of 5 vintage analog synths he was so happy with the mopho's sound (i don't claim to be an expert, but didn't disagree with his decision). though i guess some of this turns on how much you want immediate access to parameters (i like lots of knobs).
