Re: How is Automat working for you?
Ok, today .4.2 is working in 8.2.6 under Snow Leopard. I'm not in my studio so I'm testing input through the computer keyboard.

Re: Max For Live Ready for Live Performance?
Who is "we," madlab? So you do multichannel stuff in front of an audience and you don't experience any free falls and crashes? Also, I have a very dated machine. I'm looking forward to the ideas I implement remaining stable on this old lady and then rewarding me with lots of breathing room...

Re: How is Automat working for you?
icedsushi, I had my first anomaly with attempting to perform in Automat .4.2 using live 8.2.2 It happened after I downloaded 8.2.6 to test the waters, loaded it up mistakenly in my same account, and updated permissions to the latest version. Automat did not cause Live to crash, but neither would it ...

Max For Live Ready for Live Performance?
Hi, I know I could do a bit more detective work before posting this, but do you think if I bought Max for Live with this Holiday Promo that I would find enough of the current patches to be as sturdy and stable while budgeting their CPU usage that I would want to incorporate them into my Live perform...

Re: Return to Preset State?
Before you embark on Clyphx for your solution Just appreciate that it doesn't revert to Preset state, but rather Reset state. That means that if you have a default preset that is different from the factory settings, it will NOT return to it. Think of it this way: reseting the parameters will be the ...

Re: Anyone tried SKYRIM?
These days, the only way I can write off time playing games is when I'm evaluating the audio. Does this title use an adaptive sound engine or just loops? What kind of studio set up did they use? etc etc. Sure enough, if the game is really hot, I kind of root for there to be some good lessons in the ...

Re: Audio Interface - Firewire to USB?
I'm on the other side of the fence. I have Firewire, and under my circumstances, prefer it in part over the packet method that USB sends. I keep my USB 1.0. and 2.0 ports open for controllers and have absolutely no interest in converting one to the other. You have built in USB 3.0 which trumps my Fi...

Re: How is Automat working for you?
Okay, that's helpful, but wait, I use .4.2 in live 8 already. Made the leap within the last few months. Not happily, but it generally behaves. Put it this way, it's a culprit but not the immediate explanation if and when my set is unstable. So are you saying that if I'm opening automat in live 8 now...

Re: Is the water warm? Yes, Lisa.
Ah stiwi, bless you for chiming in; you're a top act. I literally would stay on leopard indefinitely if you weren't around to tell us the coast was clear on automat. EVERYTHING else on my mac including Live itself and 3 years of work on an endangered mobileme account be damned. How's .4.2 doing on L...

Re: Auto Gain for Live Performance
If I understand you correctly, do a search for Smart Mixer and select search Topic heading. There's some great sets, signal flow instruction, as well as an attempt at a native rack floating around. Due to the track count dedicated to this process, the fact that I don't own reaktor, and the subjectiv...

Re: Difficulties in DJ-ing with Ableton
skatr2, S4racen, I really like this contribution. Thanks. I've been working off 1/8 quantize, to give me a fighting chance that I'll hit the beat right, but maintain the flexibility to create syncopations with the incoming tracks if I so desire. I like your idea more. I'm hitting something to fire t...

Re: Different mappings every time I change track
Well, I'll do some more homework to give you a more thorough answer. But this is what the native options on the top of the MIDI preferences tab are doing, only they are constrained to global and mixer settings, which doesn't help you. And you know about macros and locking controllers to them as well...

Great! Terekith is banned, now we can talk about him. "Millions of tiny particles will now return to the universe?" Oh, heh, Terekith. How's it going? Well you've already heard my take on Ableton 9: First off, I might add, no one has been knocking on my door to join any focus groups...

Re: Creating DJ transition tracks
If you warp in Repitch mode- and assuming you stay on or close to the actual BPM- not only will you preserve the transients of the original wave better than with other warp settings, but you'll emulate a traditional DJ transition when you change tempo. But like most dance music since disco, this is ...
