Re: Expressive midi controller percussive pad like the Wavedrum?
Yeah, I've noted the Roland Handsonics, but thanks. I'm looking for something that doesn't use rubberized pads, though and is just a controller. It looks like it might be a custom job. I've looked into sensor systems like this: http://eowave.com/products.php for building my own, but I'm uncertain ho...

Expressive midi controller percussive pad like the Wavedrum?
Anyone know of something like the Korg Wavedrum but just as a midi controller with no synthesis engine or onboard sounds? Not just a drum pad controller with a set of 12 or 16 pads. I'm looking for something that has built in sensors for shock, pressure, aftertouch, etc. and has a one-drum head appr...

Re: foot controllers for ableton live
Ableton could put out a dedicated fool controller, say with actual feedback from the Looper device. Now that would be cool

Re: foot controllers for ableton live
Yes, I mentioned it in my first post. Interesting, though: definitely not a disadvantage for me that it's usb.

Re: foot controllers for ableton live
Though my wife and I hosted a musician traveler (through Couchsurfing) that was gigging and traveling with a Behringer foot controller. I felt kind of sorry for him to have to lug that around

Re: foot controllers for ableton live
The Behringer FCB 1010 is probably one of the most powerful foot controllers out there. I almost regret selling mine. I say almost, because the thing IS a tank. It's sturdy, but it is needlessly heavy for a foot controller compared to other stuff out there. People that don't care about this sort of ...

Global stop button making Looper do strange things . . .
I've got the multi-function buttons on two Looper devices mapped to two buttons on a foot controller. I also mapped the global stop button to another foot switch. If I have either or both Loopers playing, then hit the global stop button foot switch, the music stops and all is fine. If I then hit one...

Re: Who uses presets?
Yeah, good points all around. But the strongest point that has already been made numerous times is it really depends on the music and the people making the music. The only 3rd party synth that I own is Zebra, for instance. I was curious when I saw a thread in this forum (2007). Checked it out and wa...

Re: New skin for Live 8 - DarkLight
How do drum racks look in it? If the rack cells are nice and visible, it's a win. I like the darker skins.

13 it's a sampler on steroids. 14 it's a performance environment that you can intuitively use to produce. 15 it's a production environment that you can intuitively use to perform/DJ. This, plus time signature automation of scenes. I love this feature for looping with Looper on multiple return track...

Re: Magnetic Man Live
Technology has fuck all to do with being a DJ. Its the connection between the person playing the music and the crowd. A DJ gets a buzz from the crowd and makes the decision to play the next song, and then when he gets the reaction from that, he decides what to play next. Depending on how the crowd ...

Re: Magnetic Man Live
Well for all the time i spend producing my own stuff on this thing, they should change the name from Live to Cheat as that seems the general opinion of some. I have never played in a club, only a few festivals and lots of smaller gigs a few years back. Seems Jtdj has not got his head up his arse un...

Re: Magnetic Man Live
Sorry, your spelling is atrocious, so I can only comment on the stuff I can actually read. Not a "safety forst" guy. I start with a completely blank live set nowadays. FWIW, none of this really matters, dude, if the audience is enjoying it. Especially with DJs, I don't care one bit if they...
