Re: Layered MIDI Editing like Pro Tools, FL Studio or Bitwig!
Stuff like this and many more, which Ableton cant do, will be available within Bitwig! I will buy it, because Ableton hasnt all these possibilities. Things like Modulating everything with everything in a fast manner You can do this in Ableton, and if you couple it with the options afforded by Max f...

Re: ipad & ableton
Touchable 2 doesn't connect via a hard wire connection? I was on the verge of buying it today after playing with it on my friend's iPad. I guess I just assumed. Does it communicate via OSC?

Re: ipad & ableton
My best advice: Don't wear yourself trying to get the ad hoc communication to work. Go for a hard wired approach, and the best/cheapest solution I've found is the iConnectivity box. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iConnMIDI2p?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PPC&utm_campaign=none&devi...

Re: How do I use Reaktor 5 with Ableton?!?!?!?!?
try loading Ensembles not Instruments will save messing about with outputs dave yeah. Reaktor can turn into a crazy rabbit hole of un-user-friendly technical creativity, but you should start by opening up things that other people have built in it. Browse the ensembles, and the user library on the N...

Re: latency when recording vocals over a track on live 8
if you want your vocal to sound like you were singing inside a small box, recording in a closet is a great idea. Optimally, we'd have sound proofed rooms of all different sizes and real dedicated reverb chambers. Since that's not an option for many people, getting a deadened isolated recording that...

Re: 'Dual-wielding DAWs'
I'm almost always rewiring. Sometimes I'll start off a project with Reason or Renoise rewired into Ableton. Then after bouncing the audio from those programs into Ableton, I'll rewire Ableton into Logic and start to really "produce" the song. Lately people have been trying to convince me t...

Re: Quick Question
there's no native plugin tuner in Ableton yet, but there's some freeware options out there. Are you on Mac or PC? I'm on Mac, and I found that using TuneIt! in standalone mode was a pretty easy solution. I guess you could also load it as a plugin, but I haven't done that yet. Seems to work pretty we...

Re: latency when recording vocals over a track on live 8
There's a lot of different kinds of noise... what is the nature of the noise you're dealing with? In general, yes, you're going to want to have an isolated and quiet environment to record vocals into. Recording in your closet is a good idea, but if you're dealing with street noise etc, you might wan...

Re: latency when recording vocals over a track on live 8
you need to go into your preferences and turn down the buffer where it says "buffer size" under the Audio tab. The smaller the buffer, the lower the latency... but if you go too low and your system can't handle it you'll run into other sorts of problems. If you can get it down to 64 sample...

Re: keep clip view hidden
definitely! By the way, I found a couple shortcuts that accomplish the same thing!
If you're on mac and have your function keys allowed (disabled the defaults in the preferences), it's just SHIFT F12
You can also do it w/ CMMD OPTION L
If you're on PC, it's CNTRL ALT L or SHIFT F12
cheers!

Re: Search clips by name
yeah, that would be a cool feature.
I guess as a workaround, you could organize your sets alphabetically and then assign key maps to quick-toggle focus to the track where songs that start with that corresponding letter are located. Would only get you the first letter, but it's something at least?

That plugin would be great if it wasn't giving me a GIGANTIC cpu spike... holy hell! Just loading that into my set (which was running at 10% cpu) bumped it up to 78% without even running anything through it.re:dream wrote:http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/347/pitch
