what settings are you using for your processor? I've got my minimum clock speed set at 1657 MHz and my throttling level set to very high...my only other clock speed is 2004 MHz...now I don't get any drop-outs until I get over ~70% which is what I had with Live 6...so I'm happy now :)

I didn't have this problem on 6 but really really have it on 7 check this thread I posted here: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=84926 I think this is due to how Live loads the processor, the processor isn't stepping up fast enough to deal with the burst in required CPU cycles, and so yo...

coolbook fixes low cpu dropouts on macbook core duo 1

Ok, I don't have a mac book pro, and I don't have the santa rosa chipset, but a conversation with ableton support lead me to suspect that this thread: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=79733&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= might apply to the weird drop-outs I w...

dragging a large movie into session mode crashes live

If you drag a long movie (say 1 hr) into the session view, Live imports the first 6 minutes or so, then hangs....I've only waited about 20 minutes, but I'm pretty sure it's dead...same movie dragged into arrange view works fine....

the sidechaining is different from how 3rd party plugin sidechains work, the Live compressor sidechaining "pulls" the source, so to set the side chain you need to click the little arrow on the compressor window to expand the sidechain panel, you then select the input source from the compre...

also being able to route input from other tracks to a particular rack chain would be very useful... That you can do already, but admittedly only using a hack of sorts. Place the new compressor on the rack chain you wish to bring the signal into, and set the sidechain key "audio from" as t...

fix for low cpu meter audio cutouts on macbook==

turn off multicore rewire , instantly fixed my audio drop-outs that I was having at low cpu levels. This must be a bug, I'm not using rewire, but for whatever reason I was unable to make a Live set that used more than 50% of my CPU without it glitching out harder than a discman in a blender. Anyway...

yes I've had this problem too....I can't figure out what causes it, but to fix it you can toggle the sample rates, at least that works on my macbook

so I figured out what is causing the weird tempo behavior. It happens when Live screws up and the sample rate of the sound card and Live's audio engine sample rate don't match (ie. 44100 vs 48000 or 96000)...for some reason Live is adjusting the midi timing to match the incorrect sample rate. I have...
