watch out - I got a Kensington hub for me live show so I could attach some USB lights ... It caused Live to go a bit unstable and crashed my comp while practising. I didnt know what was going on at first, but as soon as I took out the hub it was fine again.

Have you got monitor set to off when recording?

Monitor on will usually cause that...

If you have the time and patience I'd go for an analog modular system. I've had a small system for about 3 months now, absolutely love it, and you buy modules from different manufactures to suit your taste. If you want a synth with soul, I think its the ultimate. But be warned its highly addictive ....

yes this could be what i'm looking for... since I couldnt get the DIN Sync from the Kenton to work properly.

The way Reason 4 has dealt with groove isn't particularly elegant imo, all that's really needed are bog standard templates like we had in Cubase v1 on the Atari years ago. I just want to be able to save a groove that I've extracted from setting some warp markers (or slices) and apply it to some oth...

I just wanted to use the accents and portamento in the sequence for acid-type lines.... thinking of getting an analogue sequencer anyway, just wanted to explore this option aswell.

I remember a year or 2 ago, M-Audio had some info on a prototype assignable touch controller, not a screen but an assignable tactile thing. Looked pretty interesting. It gets worse, i.e. there is an actual bpm, not timing difference. It starts off in sync.

wow. this release just keeps getting better and better. yep.. another one; what I used to do, previous to 7; have a 1 bar MIDI loop, loop it, say 4 times, tweak the hardware while recording on a 2nd track, so the recording has loads of variation.. now.. the external instrument device 'realtime free...

OK, I'll try song mode...
Tempo control has no effect when using sync.
