To my ears.... Most micro-tone stuff sounds like targetting.... Where notes
are bent into shape, targetting the main tonal centres. I know there is
theory behind it, but it seems pretty fluid to me.

Checkout the "Carnatic Melakarta". It's an Indian scale system. A grid of 42 scales. You take a lower tetra-chord (4 notes), combine it with an upper tetra-chord and you have a new scale. hmmm having trouble finding it on google as well explained as this piece of paper I have here somewher...

Why is it no one has actually put all these monitors in the anechoic
chamber and done proper comparison graphs?

Then get the AU$330 ones :-) That's like half the cost of any of these active ones. His rear suround speaks are very flat..... Tho not so much bass of course.... The older ones have more, they were more designed as just a really flat good speaker, while the new ones are probably a lil more high freq...

u gotta get Active headphones cause normal ones are sooooo much worse.

Why active? Which is your real requirement.... That it's cheap? That it's active? or That it sounds great and is cheap? It's all in the driver. Altho half the song is usually on deep purple and the other half on led zep.... Still it's a bit easier to listen to then someone repea...
