Gone it was.

That was 6 months ago. The good news is that a Luthier friend is making me a custom Stick which promises to be even better.

Using Computers.

I've wasted a lot of time trying to do things with computers that they aren't well suited for.

Re: Does Australia have the best strippers?

Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia would be the center for athleticism,
lots of those tricks are the standard fare from any club in "the strip".

Other places in Australia are less competitive and girls get away with doing very little.

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40

 it's not a drumpad controller, simple as that, doesn't matter how teh interweb people want to rant about it. get an mpd FFS. the price would definitely go way up, that's a LOT of buttons to make velocity sensitive. come to think of it, it would be way too many drum sounds. how large of a mul...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40

One thing about the APC I don't understand, those backlit buttons aren't velocity sensitive are they? -Ben No, they aren't. I really dont see what is so hard to understand about this. Those are not drum pads. They are clip triggers. The price of the unit would massively increase if they made the bu...

Re: Anaconda Generates Electricity From Sea Energy

How does the electricity register into the system to be used by humans? Since it's far enough off-shore, does the electrical current from the turbine head through a wire down to the sea floor and into a device that transfers it to a source, or what? I'm a little confused how they get the energy fro...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40

I hope NI and Ableton never collaborate. NI are high CPU buggy garbage for the most part, while the Kore was a complete joke. Some great sounds but cost in efficiency and stability isn't worth it. One thing about the APC I don't understand, those backlit buttons aren't velocity sensitive are they? -...

Re: who do you report cracked software to for ableton?

They may be morally corrupt but that doesn't stop them from being an opportunity.

On an unrelated point:
If only you knew how much I hate when people passive-aggressively sign-off with "peace" or "love and light" etc.
It shows so little of what the tagline suggests.

Re: who do you report cracked software to for ableton?

Calling you an accountant is name calling? Ok so you will only accept it if you hear from an economist or financial guru because that's your peer group. I'll take the multitude of posts on this thread and the many companies I've seen purchase bulk software licenses on the suggestions of their tech k...

Re: electric bass midi interface

Problem is the lag gets worse faster the lower it goes..... 20Hz is 20 cycle resolution per second vrs the 10,000 or so cycles to count on a guitar per-second. It might take the firmware a few cycles to figure out the frequency so at low frequencies latency becomes increasingly noticable (or locks o...

Re: who do you report cracked software to for ableton?

Good example of how the argument of "piracy makes things more expensive" is flawed. When the price point of computer games goes up so does the piracy. The higher you stretch the margin, the higher the demand for piracy. Piracy may or may not increase the price, but the price increases the ...

Ben - as I said: please show me non-anecdotal evidence that software developers benefit from piracy. Surely you can back your hypothesis up with some sort of valid study - thanks! I'll put my years in marketing against your years in accounting anyday :-) How many bands became popular through tape s...

Check this out. New. Seems cool. There's a thread around here somewhere. Mono only. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/G2M http://www.sweetwater.com/images/items/215/G2M.jpg monophonic pickups won't work so well with bass..... These devices can work ok on guitar where the frequency means that t...

Re: electric bass midi interface

I found a Yamaha G50 cheap on ebay. Tracking isn't great tho, will work for setting frequency on a ring-modulator or something. Setup of the pickup can be half the battle, slight changes in position relative to the strings can drastically effect tracking. Richard Bona on a Roland V-Bass - tracking s...
