Re: Ableton & Serato Announce...And it's FREE!
you GOT to be kidding me... If you DONT need vinyl emulation, and dont care to have it, then dont get serato. If you bought already, then you wasted your money and you might as well sell it on ebay and get some money to buy your traktor pro. But dont comment on this thread cause this doesnt concern...

Re: Ableton & Serato Announce...And it's FREE!
My 1st thoughts were "This is great, I wonder how much serato is"... went straight to the serator site and... I was disappointed when I realised that Serato cannot be controlled by any of the 3 midi controllers I have, namely the remote zero. My beatmatching is not great and I have no inte...

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
I can't seem to get this whole process put together and working properly. Maybe someone can help. I did the above mentioned and put a Sampler on a pad inside of a Drum Rack and added 128 samples into the Zone section. Then I distributed equally which spread them across the keys. I mapped a macro to...

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
You don't need the pitch plug in between the drum rack and sampler. You can map a macro directly to samplers Sample Select Ruler (under Zone -> Sel).

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
One thing I am going to try is to map the macro to Samplers Sample Select Ruler (under Zone -> Sel) this will allow you to flick through samples easily with a keyboard. The plus side to distribute rows evenly and having less than 128 samples is if you are using a midi rotary control you don't have t...

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
Whilst writing the above I thought I should try right clicking and see what appeared and there is an option to Distribute ranges equally.
Very easy.

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
Although I have seen a similar idea in one of the free loopmasters packs for ableton, you have just inspired me to set up a rack similar to yours for all my drum hits. How much does Sampler save on memory CPU? I was of the understanding that unless a Live device is being used it uses now CPU at all....

Funny you mention that, over the last 6 months I have noticed a plastic burning smell coming from my remote zero.

What are you using the padkontrol for?
The velocity sensitive buttons and touchpad are a bonus if you are using it to control a drum rack ... but what else.

Re: Looking for a sub octaver
Although I am no expert with it,can't this be achieved using ableton's Corpus or even frequncy shifter. They both have a tune dial and can be set in a rack or on a send.

Re: Audio crackling when scrolling
Run this http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml I had a very similar issue and this helped me discover that my DVD drive was causing the issue. Once I disabled the drive the crackling stopped. My issue was also apparent when resizing a windows 'window'! Even when playing music through softwa...

Re: usb or firewire for external soundcard
I feel it depends on what system you are using, even pc or Mac. The reason I say this is that all PC's support USB and do so very well. A lot of pc Laptops do not have any in built firewire ports, certainly not 6 pin ports (so the unit can be powered over firewire). Therefore you need a firewire PCM...

Re: Why are things like APC40 so much cheaper in the USA ?
