no such thing as a good stable laptop/PC......all were made with crashing in mind....


that said..... rackmounting a stable PC/Powerbooks/Sony Vaio's are all good.... (Rackmounting a pc n using a tft screen is cheaper, bulkier but nice n stable) i use it for gigs...no probs yet

gday, I play alot in the live respect...using a narrowed down gear list i use a Dave Smith Rack mounted PC 3ghz with 2ghz ram, WinXp Pro, Moto 828, Access virus KC etc etc....Nothing goes past a rack mounted pc dedicated to the programs/vst's ure taking on stage. Ive playd over 12gigs with the same ...

cheers...workin but it crackles abit in logic...is that just rewire ....ive cheked all my buffer settings n they r fine...

will I be able to use the kc's soundbank in live 4 the same as in logic...ie draw in filter sweeps n pads using its soundbank?...or as a midi intrument

bout to buy n 8000 to extend my 001's outputs to 16, will it show up in live??? I'e been told it will in tools but just cheking b4 i buy it

I use no timestrecthing at all, all plotted beatz, n record sound from my virus kc, etc etc, so timestrecthing doesnt apply to me, so..... there shuld be no sounddifference, ie, the same trak written in logic wont sound heaps heaps diferent to the same one in live, just the plugins give logic the ed...

gday, go to the digidesign website, n go to downloads, n find the latest ASIO driver, 6.1 it is i think, I run a top end pc with 001 n all i did was installed the ASIO driver, made sure evrything was connected, rebooted, started live, n in audio drop down preferneces, ASIO was there, thats it 8O mat...
