Hi Guest not sure what you are doing wrong, but clip editing definately works in modes other than 'beat'. Transposition doesn't work in repitch but that is the nature of re-pitch. There are some clip edit properties which are specific to certain modes - ie sample offset only works in 'beats, grain s...

Hi B-man the manual is really very good. But it has to be read carefully, you cant just skim it. Live does things fairly differently to other programs so you have to give it some space. You can DL the manual from the downloads section of the ableton site. Also, I always find it really useful to read...

UC33 - Ableton Overlay

Hi I just got my UC33 today!!! Excellent bit of kit. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has the Live overlay? Could you tell how it is laid out? I bought the UC33 principally for Live and I would love to know how template is organised. It could influence me in how i choose to set my la...

This is exactly what i have (external firewire drive, Western Digital 120gb with 8 meg cache in an Ice enclosure). It makes no difference. I get these dropouts with both the in built audio and with my RME Multiface.

Do you have the 'monitor in live' button on in the audio preferences?

I have found that this seems to stop the problem

yep, i am getting this too

but the behaviour is intermittent

this is occuring with new songs as well, so i dont think it has anything to do particularly with the fact your sets were saved in version2

prior to 2.1 the screen would get really sluggish. That meant that any kind of mouse movements would take forever - dragging in new samples, crossfading from A to B - anything like that. 'forever' is an exaggeration but it would definitly impede the process of working with live - you would always fe...
