Send me your track to post on my music blog

Hey folks, I run a little electronic music blog/podcast at www.protagonistrecords.net where I post a new free electronica mp3 three times a week. If you want to get some more ears on your stuff, send in a track occasionally. Include a link to a profile page, or album you have for sale, and I'll put ...

Music blog looking for indie electronic music tracks to post

Hey folks! I run a little record label/blog at http://www.protagonistrecords.net/. I'm starting up a new initiative to post a new free track to download or stream every day mon-fri. It's traffic for my site, and exposure for you, should you decide to submit. I'll plug a music profile site or album o...

Re: Selling music

I've glanced at bandcamp - it looks good, but doesn't seem terribly flexible in how you sell, how you preview, etc. Probably quite user friendly though. There's CDbaby which will sell through their site and via iTunes, Amazon, etc. I've set up my own webstore which sells physical and digital stuff, ...

Span - Epic trance

http://www.sgxmusic.com/images/span360.jpg Stream it or download it right here!!! http://www.protagonistrecords.net/node/147 This is some good old epic trance stuff with piano lead. I haven't done trance in so long, but I think this turned out well. The production is probably the best I've done. Th...

Advice/comments on mix/master on a trance track.

Hey folks. I would appreciate any tips or comments you have on the mix/master of a track I'm about to finalize. This version is almost complete, except for a couple small issues: http://www.sgxmusic.com/music/SGX%20-%20Span.mp3 In particular, I'm worried about the bass. I was pretty happy with the w...

Bass kick layers not triggering at the same time?

I've got this drum rack for my drum parts. Each pad in the rack contains a midi chord effect then an impulse sampler set up to trigger all the impulse pads when a midi note is sent to that drum rack pad. This is an easy and quick way for me to layer my drum samples and keep my midi patterns clean. I...

I eat everything, but I'm trying to cut back on fast food, red meats, and fatty stuff in general.

Re: Do you Twitter?

www.twitter.com/sgxmusic Twitter is pretty rad. I thought it would be stupid (facebook already does update statuses) but the fact that you receive your feeds and post to twitter from a variety of different software and devices makes it powerful. I just use the twitterfox Firefox extension and a litt...

Re: Seperating kick on its own channel

I am doing this.....setup a drum rack with impulse on the cells you wish to use.....when you trigger a cell only the first impulse slot will hit, you can put a midi chord plug before the impulse and adjust to suit.....you can make up to 8 impulse slots hit at the exact same time (layering hits) thi...

Re: If You Want to Learn Web Design Where Do You Start?

I'd like to echo the suggestions to learn HTML and CSS, then get familiar with a CMS like Wordpress or Drupal. I used to build my sites for my music from scratch and just update by updating my static .html pages. This was ok for a bit, but we're in "web 2.0" now and lots of people expect d...

Re: Seperating kick on its own channel

I have kick, snare percs, you name it. On separate channels. I do this too, I find it suits my workflow better. I also make drumracks that are "all kicks", "all snares", "all cymbals", and "all percussion" so I can quickly load all 4, then I make a pattern an...
