Re: Looking for a user-friendly 4-out interface for beginner DJ.

On the contrary--Live is excellent for DJing. Ask Deadmau5. :) I actually was referred to it as a beginner because of its budget-friendly price and that I didn't have to go and get a CDJ or Technics turntables. I'm a serious hobbyist, but I'm just starting out. I use the Launchpad as my mixer, as i...

Jok, I tried what you told the other poster to do, to no avail.
Surely there must be some mutual solution on the part of Apple as well as Developers.
In any case, thanks for the information.

Thank you for figuring that out! Just today I tried to do what you're doing and experienced the same problem exactly. I'm presently very upset because I bought a Duet for use with the band so the drummer and I could hear cues (and for the occasional DJ gig). I was even told I could use "Aggrega...

Thank you!

As you warned, it is a bit of a CPU hog, but the tradeoff is one fine-sounding vocoder, which is fantastic! Thanks again!

It's not talked about much, but being able to change time signatures has really set me free. I don't like to feel restricted to 4/4. Even turning off the grid Live FELT like it preferred 4/4. Maybe it's just my neurosis. Yeah, that IS cool. We're free now! Free! Free to be as freaky-geeky prog-rock...

Color-coding is a great idea. Thanks for that post. And I'd have to (second or third) that motion about bouncing down to audio. In fact, (sightly OT) I had to take an ultra-minimalist approach: Using Live and Reason, I programmed the backing arpeggios for a Who song we're doing tonight at a biker ba...

Had to laugh when I saw your post . . .becuase I have basically the same thing! (1.2 gHz 14" iBook; 768megs, "putt putt putt.") I ReWire Reason into Live, and I often have to freeze most of the tracks, seeing as how I have a lot of the problems you mentioned earlier if I don't. Here's...

I know what you mean; most of my songs are in 4. For odd time signatures, i've opted to record loops and import those over to Pro Tools. I much, much prefer using Live over PT due to it's handling of CPU resources, but it is not (yet) a full-fledged DAW. Love that tempo automation, VSTs etc.; that b...
