Re: Looper + Live as Looper
loop, belated response to your question: mobius is phenomenal, i would pay serious money for it (it's free), it has the easiest midi config of anything i've used, i run 8 indy tracks (all synced), each with 8 loops on it, you can insert across one or all, reverse one or all, substitute across one or...

Re: Looper + Live as Looper
look, i love live, but why so many workarounds to get pretty obvious functionality? people complain mobius is complicated, but it's waaaaaaaaaaaay easier to get it to do things like this in mobius than in live (i've been thinking long and hard about how to use looper to do what i want to do, so i co...

i used EMG or whatever in my jazz for years, then switched back to the originals, really didn't miss the active. that said, depends on what kind of music you play, and what kind of bass you have. if you want the marcus miller slap sound on a jazz, you need active. if you want mccartney, you need pas...

wow. the digital preset system really makes that worthwhile (so you could actually use it live). know of anything similar for guitar? (i'll likely get one of these for bass, but have often wondered why there's no guitar synth that's analog signal, with presets stored digitally, maybe there's one i d...

which has the best mics/pres? (wondering which is the best bet for, e.g., recording someone in a room playing guitar and singing and coming out of it with something truly useable.) which is best for recording line out? (e.g., so that you can record loops out of a kaossilator or a machinedrum with go...

beer/liquor pricing is alot like cigarettes -- varying widely based on taxes -- and also varies based on what a given market is deemed to prefer (e.g., corona used to be way expensive all sorts of places -- as an import -- that it's now just another beer with fairly national pricing (leaving aside t...

oh, china's not foreclosing on anything -- they need to sell to the US, that's why they buy T's. and we could always default rather than pay as necessary, we're about the only economy large enough to get away with it. but i don't think it will come to that, people are moving into the dollar and T's ...

the US deficit is not particularly high compared to historical (been higher with ford, reagan, bush I, etc.). the US national debt is not particularly high compared to other developed countries (well below japan, most of europe, etc.). not strange at all to run deficits, have debt, people, countries...

50% is way easy to reach in the US, depending on what state and local taxes you're paying, and whether you're self-employed and/or an employer, in which case you pay both sides of the SS. as for things being cheaper in the US, been that way forever, much of that is the size of the market. e.g., they...

um, the dollar's actually strengthening against everything but the yen as part of a flight to perceived quality. as for paying more in taxes, no thanks, my effective tax rate is already around 50%. you do realize the US was just ranked the most progressive tax system already aside from i think irela...

thinking about some of the drum machines that are now classics, but seemed like little more than toys at the time, i think a current classic may be something like the kaossilator or one of the kaos pads, where people 10 years from now will kill to find a mint one because of the quirky sound. or some...
