You should watch Echoes of Dub. It will show you the way.

Yes, I think that using rewire with PT as a host is as close as the OP will get to a solution.

Re: Slaving Pro Tools to Live (for vocals/recording)
PT can only host but... just use rewire?
Using rewire also gives you the advantage of getting over the PT track limit by running Live in through the Aux's.
You can go up to 100+ tracks if you need.

Re: Session Drums with Roland V Drum TD8
TD-10 here. Connected MIDI through a digi002r. Works fine for me, regular plug and perform. Not sure if the TD-8 has the same settings but I find that when I try different pad presets (as in, going into the Roland setup and telling the unit whether you are using a PD-8 or a PD-10 as your snare, etc....

Re: Need DnB Loops in MIDI
2 things:
1. Lots of free midi sites out there, google "free midi files 'drum and bass' d'n'b" Even try hip hop or funk files at high bpm's.
2. I have a midi drum kit, midi guitar (for bass lines), and a midi keyboard and would be willing to send you clips or collaborate.

Re: ez drummer
Are you playing the midi clips from within ez?
I know it has a midi player of some sort.
I'm not sure but they should follow the session tempo.
If they don't, can you extract them into the clip slots?

Re: Music production in a loft space
That's right, bass traps prevent bass from disappearing. And if there are standing waves, there are standing waves, regardless of volume. What I'm suggesting is that the OP use modular panels, like gobos, to create a mixing space within the room. ie. the stands by the piano here: http://www.readyaco...

Re: Music production in a loft space
In a nutshell, if your mixes sound trebbly in your room and bassy in your car, then you need to do some bass trapping friend.

Re: Music production in a loft space
Yes you can treat big spaces easily. The good thing is that you don't get as many early reflections as you would in a small room. You might find more luck with diffusion rather than absorption in your case. If bass is your big issue, for certain look into DIY bass traps. You can even make them on st...

Re: Striping MTC to tape
Hey, why not rewire Live into Logic? Or use it as a sidecar?
I run between a few different pieces of software for different features as well.
Editing in PT, looping in Live, midi in Cubase, synth programing in Reason, etc.

Re: Room treatment for noobs
Maybe we could give more advise if we knew the size/shape of the room and how your stuff is currently setup?
It sounds like you are simply suffering from a bad case of proximity effect.

Re: Room treatment for noobs
Try to make your room/speakers/listening position symmetrical in the room. Also, I've found sometimes that turning the whole setup 90 degrees in the room can help or hurt a lot. I posted this, the last time this question came up. Got a few minutes? Acoustic treatment. Two types. Acoustic treatment t...

Re: A cheaper MIDI guitar solution?
Careful of anything that uses sound tracking. It can get sloppy.
I use a Yamaha EZ-AG which are about $250 if you can find them.
The EZ-EG looks a lot nicer but harder to find.
