If you do end up getting one I can recommend the Emu 1616m PCI soundcard. Mine works a treat with the Dell. I agree with what someone else said, computers will always have problems. But as a rule Dell are excellent in dealing with them. I've only ever brought dells and when I've had a little prob, t...

I've got the 6000 and it rocks. One thing I did, and I'd advise anyone to do the same, is to cut the amount of RAM down to as low as possible and then buy it seperate from Crucial.com. Dell really do charge through the roof for it. I've got 2GB of Ram in mine now, and it flys through things.

Angled Midi cables?

Does anyone know where you can purchase angled midi cables? I'd like to have my faderfox setup over my laptop keyboard but normal midi cables stick out too far to achieve this. I'm based in the UK, I did try Dolphin Music but they said their suppliers couldnt produce them?! Any other people from the...

Ha, ha! Well no you dont. But for me I would have preferred an offer on increased hard-drive capacity or something. I knew I wanted 2gigs of ram and to buy that much from dell would have been ridiculous. Its still a good offer if you werent planning to spend any extra on ram, though.

I have an Inspiron 6000 and I'm loving it. The one in the magazine was a basic spec because they were testing laptops under £1000. The double memory offer is abit poop really. What I did was cut the memory down to the lowest amount and then brought two 1gbs of ram to fit in each slot from Crucial.co...

This thread, along with the other warping thread in this forum, has taught me alot. I dont understand why people get all worked up, everyone has to start somewhere and whilst the manual is very good, its nice to know other peoples views on methods etc etc. Thanks for all the good info in this thread...

When Live 5 auto warps my tracks the only yellow marker is the one set at 1.1.1? Are they all meant to start off yellow? I can double click them to become yellow and lock them in place, but they dont start like this, do they?

If you double click on a grey marker it becomes warped, therefore locking everything to the left of it in place. So if the beginning is correctly marked, set a marker, then you can mess about with the middle without affecting the beginning.

I have a simple question for someone (obviously simple to me when i actually know) When you are setting 1.1.1 do you set it at the first noise, or do you set it at the first beat eg Kick? I have alot of tunes that start with a nice intro, but if i start at the beginning of this I cant seem to get th...

I'm sure it'll be a decent bit of kit. I'm loving my faderfox right now so I'm in no hurry for this at all. Does look hot, though.

This is indeed with the Digital DJ mag. I have this issue and the interview is mainly about Sasha using Ableton, but they do talk about his controller and show it briefly.

Future Music have a feature on Laptops this month. The one that came out on top was the Dell Inspiron 6000 (and yes it beat the Mac powerbook G4). It also gives you tips on what a laptop should have when you're thinking of Using it from a music point of view.

Have you seen the Ecler Nuo4? I used one the other day and whereas you can run decks and CDJ's off it, there is also a 5th channel just for midi. Not only that, but channels 2 and 3 can be turned to midi mode meaning the actual crossfader on the mixer and all EQ's control the said things in Ableton ...
