Haven't tried it yet, but i could imagine you could make this real stereo by processing the left and right channels seperately and then combine them...
Might even be possible to make a rack for this!

Its pretty easy actually... -Hit record and record your midi-fiddling... -Hit stop and goto your arrangement view. -Find the midi-data you've just recorded. -Select the ENVELOPE (not the clip) part you want to have and right...
