The Emssary

Hey guys. I've been producing for a few years now, and I LOVE Ableton. Actually I'll be playing a live remix set with it this weekend in Dallas. I set up a myspace page for my music and have one song on there already, hope to get several more put up. Its my remix of Deepsky's Lost in the Moment, a n...

Was actually just playing it.

Just go download the demo. If you like it, you'll like the game even more.

I recorded it and saw that the "hiccups" are 10-15 ms gaps in audio output. I tried using the "asio4all" driver instead of the regular ozonic driver, but it still did the same thing.

external hard drive

I'm using albeton installed on my system drive, but working with .mp3 from a faster USB external drive, will I see an increase in performance? The decoding cache is still on my system drive, right? So I'm wondering if there is any real benefit.

Audio Hiccups..is my computer drunk??

Heya guys, this is probably a really n00b question, but, I just got a new used laptop and have been using Ableton on my desktop just fine. The laptop a winxp AMD XP-M 2400 with 730 m ram and a 40 gig HD. Well, sometimes I get little "hiccups" or very short dropouts of audio. It doesn't hap...

Ah, no wonder I didn't see it, I use Ableton in the Session mode almost exclusively. I guess I can always tab over to see my time.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't have reactor. I think I'll be alright though.

noobie question

I have Ableton Live 5 (yes, legit!) And I might be doing a performance. But I just realized that the program does not seem to show the track progress in terms of minutes and seconds, only in terms of bars and beats. I can't figure out in the manual if there's any way to let Ableton tell you how long...

I wonder if it could have something to do with the analasis folder size or something?

The case of the missing analasis files

Okay, I took a buttload of time to warp mark a chunk of .mp3 songs to use in a DJ set. Well, I opened up live the other day, and in the sample browser window, a bunch of the songs I warp marked no longer have the little "check mark" icon in front of the waveform icon that indicates that th...

Dumb Question

Okay, this isn't a bug, it's admittedly just my own ignorance. Whenver I've used a clip on a track in session mode, then, after deleting a clip, try to load a song into a track in arrangement mode, I hit play and the audio waveform turns grey and no sound comes out. Why?

Narrow minded people are going to "not get it" and will always come up and hate on anything new. It happened with hip hop Djs when they first started out. That's just what it means to be on the cutting edge. You just have to learn to take the sh1t from people. I've been a mobile DJ before,...

hah, that's a good idea, and pretty obvious, now I feel like a dork!

Okay then, I'll change the request to-

Allow one to right click and "label" the warp markers to allow one to designate track sections.

Dj feature- Marking Tracks

It would be really great in session mode to place markers at certain points in the waveform of a long clip. A dj could mark off sections of a song that way, and it would make it much easier to loop sections or jump from part to part.

BT also uses the standalone "D-Beam" controller (not the actual name, I think, as "D-Beam" is the name Roland uses for its licensed use) that allows him to control his custom stutter plugin in 3 dimensions somewhat theremin style. When I saw him in Dallas a month or so ago, he o...
