No, the BCR won't record any tracks. If you're talking about audio tracks you need to buy an audio interface.

does the mackie control have any 'free' cc's or midi notes (user defined)? or is it possible to somehow disable certain commands so those numbers can be assigned to other things? I'm not sure what you mean by "the mackie control" but the answer is yes for both the Mackie Control protocol ...

Same here with a Fireface 800. Especially now in the summer it gets quite hot on the right side (were the power supply should probably be).
