Re: Should I upgrade from Live 8 to 9?
i'd say you're better off investing in some quality 3rd party plugins, live 8 works quite well as is.

Re: Boost low end or use MaxxBass
it's a better idea to go through each bass channel and see which one actually needs to be boosted. if you bring it up on the entire group you could end up over-enhancing on some parts. on your record i'd work a lot more on bringing the actual sub up since that's what seems to need to come out more. ...

Re: wtf bitwig? - full review
In honesty, have you tried the linux client yet? Have you had any issues? As someone who used Ubuntu desktop for about 4 years before getting a mac, I think this, more than anything is Bitwig's #1 feature... i love linux for a lot things and sure, i might play around on it with a/v tasks; for actua...

wtf bitwig? - full review
arch 86/64 w/ fluxbox first attempt of running it lead to yaourt not finding all required dependencies and it wasn't until it completely crashed mid-project and corrupted everything that the issue became obvious. pacman didn't have much luck with a better install either. ubuntu server 12.04 though i...

that's what i meant, typed too fast.leisuremuffin wrote:you definitely don't want to use omnidirectional unless you want to get everything in the room. Omnidirectional will pick up from all directions. Hypercardioid is the pattern that is the most directionally focused.

Re: Question about Dynamic vs. Condensor Mics
it would be best to use an omnidirectional mic but even so you'll get some bleed in depending on how loud everything in the room is. watch out for phase issues also, mic placement is very important.

Re: ZEBRA 10 year Anniversary
why'd you get rid of it in the first place? the new distortion module is great and it truly makes zebra complete.Tarekith wrote:I've been really tempted to pick up Zebra again lately, uh oh.

Re: Extract vocals from MP3
long answer: ultimately it's impossible to isolate one single instrument from a master audio file without noticeable effects.
short answer: don't bother.

Re: Zebra 2
zebra's range can cover more ground than many other synths can; the learning curve can be steep especially since the lack of "omg wahbulz" or "krazy leed!" presets but it's definitely above other options.

Re: which new midi keyboard?
@merges i'm not looking to feel like i'm playing a real piano and i also got used to clicking a lot of stuff in as opposed to using knobs and faders for every parameter, i click a lot of that stuff in. so what i need is keys that feel good, are sturdy, and that send out accurate velocity; then a goo...

Re: which new midi keyboard?
thanks for the responses. well in regard to automap and more advanced features i've been using a keyrig49 for the past years with not much need for a sht ton of extra faders, pads, knobs, etc. so at this point in time i'm not really thinking of them. my issue is as much with external as with interna...

which new midi keyboard?
i'm looking to upgrade my keyboard in the near future and am currently thinking of:
akai mpk49 or novation 49 sl
at this point in time the novation seems much sturdier, and also after getting the short stick with my apc i'm skeptical about akai's build quality.
which would you recommend?
