how do u like the ER-20s? can u still hear the sounds you need to hear when performing? i have been considering a pair, but haven't got them yet. wanted to hear some reviews on them first. Get'em. Not completely transparent, but not bad. You can hear what you need to, but the sound is a little colo...

Problem with Garritan Jazz and Big Band VST ...
My installation of this plugin does not appear to support Live 5's 'unfold plugin parameter' feature. Am I really stuck with the Kontakt player UI for all patch loading, parameter tweaking etc? If not, how do I select instruments and apply automation curves to parameters?

NI Xpress Keyboards has Live 5 VSTi preset browsing issue
I think Xpress Keyboards has the same issue as Guitar Rig. If you browse the presets (either directly through the NI UI, or indirectly through Live), you eventually get Live to throw an error and ask you to save and restart.

Possible workaround?
If there are problems using them directly from Live, and since I already use Reason as a slave, I could use the NNXT versions of the libraries. Presumbably, if they are happy in Reason, the only issues I would then have would be Reason/Live issues. This make sense?

Sonik Capsules and Live v5.x ?
Are these subject to the same 5.x issues as the Sampletank 2 ones on this board? Anybody using these without issue?

No step input in MIDI editor ???
Is there really no Cubase-like step input that allows you to enter notes by keyboard, but not in time? You basically set a 'cursor' to a point in the sequence and then hit whatever keys on your midi keyboard you like. These notes get inserted according to quantization settings, and the cursor is mov...

Bingo! Rewire rules!!! Thanks a million. Clip envelopes for Reason controls. Cool! i don't have the stuff in front of me so bear with me - but to automate redrum patterns from live clips: 1. set up redrum patterns with reason rewired to live (obvious i know) 2. create a midi track in live - route th...

I'm attempting the same thing with a FCB1010, BCR2000, Kontrol49. I am rather disappointed that Live 5 has no improvements in the midi remote support. We gotta be able to navigate the session view via midi commands so we don't need so many midi controls to record tracks, trigger clips, etc. Done rea...

Best practices for using Reason Redrum for drum parts
Is there any way I can create Reason Redrum 'patterns' and associate them with individual clips, so that when the scene changes, the drum pattern does too? Failing that, what have people found to be effective ways to use Redrum from Live? I can dump the pattern from Redrum into the Reason sequencer,...

Can't get my BCR2000 to work
Can't seem to get my BCR2000 to be recognized properly by the B-Control Update utility (or Reason or Live). I have a Kontrol 49 connected via USB as well as the BCR2000. I've tried both U-1 and U-3 modes without luck. 1.07 was factory installed. When I try to install 1.10, the update utility gives t...

One problem I have with this configuration is that I while I'm playing the bass and recording the loop, I don't want any audio (for either the audio track or the associated loop track), as it sounds wierd 'chorusing' with my bass rig. So far, I haven't found any way to keep audio flowing from my aud...

Santa Cruz/South Bay live looper/multi-instrumentalist?
Looking for the other half of a jazz/funk/DnB/hip-hop/downtempo/ambient (i.e. whatever happens) live looping duo. I play electric upright bass, electric bass, and some keys. My laptop runs both Live and Reason, and I use an FCB1010 to record and trigger loops in Live 4, and a Kontrol49 to interact w...

I agree. Better MIDI editiing would be great. As would VSTi capabilities in Reason.

warp mode induced clicks and pops?
When I record external audio, or Rewired audio output, and have warp mode set (so I can use the clip in a loop), I get some pops and clicks in the clip. In the clip view, as it plays back, there is some weird redraw behavior where the cursor is about to hit the next beat, but jumps forward to the ne...
