I just purchased an MFB Synth II and can record midi in to clip automation. But when I play back the clip it isn't receiving the automation. Do I need a midi to CV converter? I mean the synth is sending CC but it doesn't receive? Someone help! I need automation and I'm golden. :)

Shit I forgot to tell you... If you want to DIY... There is no maximizer in Live. But I think under the Mastering presets there is a Rack that basically makes one. Otherwise, you'll have to make a Multiband Dynamics rack yourself. Use 3 chains (or more). And drop an EQ then a Compressor in each. Now...

My advice is not to use one. Please read: http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature-read.aspx?id=1007 There is pleanty of other information out there on mastering as well. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. I beleive in dynamics. When the music is pushed up and "everything" is loud, it just gets tiring to you...

I have also been thinking about which is better. I've noticed that just one instance of Battery "bogs" down live. Also, why spend the money on Battery when you have Drum Racks (DR)? If you really like the samples-which I admit, they are nice! Then, just purchase the samples and take a day ...

Just had a look at the user manual on the M-Audio site. I didn't see anything regarding this. I use live and in the user manual of the PMix it give a breakout of what the AUX buttons are mapped to. And for some reason the M-Audio form doesn't have a search function. Good luck trying to find somethin...
