No, you'll definitely want to delete the MIDI mode assignments that you made. Sounds like you gave them all the same CC#, so effectively all your faders are doing the same thing. Did you assign your controls starting from CC#0 on the Nocturn itself? They need to be the same numbers and channel as in...

Check out my advice on aggregate devices with duet here: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=813727#813727 As far at the TC Electronic Konnect or 24d or anything, I understand their drivers to be rubbish. As in, you will feel raped in the face for buying their shit. As a recovering Protools guy...

Nah-ah
In my experience, can't be done, I regret to report. Sure someone's going to argue with me that "yes" it can be done, and they'll take you through the steps. What you might find is that an audible delay recurs in the secondary output, making cueing out-of-the-question. Sure you could still...

Ugh. A big "fuck you" to the ableton forum for bumping me out to the sign in page and erasing my whole initial message. I'm always Select-Alling and Copying shit first, and the one time I don't, the fuckers-that-be-the-internet eraces my message. Okay here goes again: Sorry Phat that you h...

Ya can't
soft synth, Live's the Host? Can't do it. I think the Sampler accepts more modulation control messages, but Live will only natively interpret pitchbend. This is a hold out that I can only hope will be implemented in Live 8, but there might be a deeper-rooted explanation for it.

Outstanding Automat questions:
Now that Automat AU is firmly in it's 1.0 life-cycle, can I get a consensus on it's performance? 1) For the while it was in Beta, automat came with a warning that it would cause a serious drain on the CPU. Has this been cleaned up? 2) Are you still getting crashes? How about when you side-chain rout...

although I'm not thrilled at the latency problems people are having with the duet (and I hope they've been solved with an update) I should mention the answers to a couple open questions here: Yes, you can mute your speakers/headphones independently of each other. That's different than adjusting volu...

You're in luck. Just assign the control on your hardware to pitch bend. the soft or hard synth you're using should be receiving from any midi port that you've set up with Track enabled. So long as your synth accepts pitch messages (which I believe does include any ableton instrument) you'll hear the...

just curious
just curious. What is your CPU load bar looking like? I've only read this very superficially, but I believe there is some well-researched testing to suggest that routing to audio tracks/submixing has a big cost.
Again, I'm vague in the details because I haven't tackled it, but I will.

This only comes to mind because I had my own funny jumps recently. If you're using a User-Remote Script or you've just used Learn for automap, make sure that the resolution in Steps to your control is the way you like it. I had something to step through 16 options. When I set up the Knob to use 16 s...
