Re: Sample buffering issues...

When I DJ, i usually have 15-20% CPU usage consistently. I use a somewhat large rack of effects mainly comprised of ableton plug-ins. The only 3rd party plug-in I have running is guitar rig for additional effects. I turn them on and off with knobs on the APC40, so the majority of my plugins are turn...

Sample buffering issues...

Hey, so I'm using a pretty large set comprised of 200 samples (each one representing a full length song) for DJing. Sometimes when I load the set, Live slowly buffers each sample in my entire set, which takes like 20 minutes. Other times, the buffering is instant. Is there a way to keep the songs an...

Is it possible to hot cue in a designated loop length...

...on a sample, much akin to the looping function in Traktor? Perhaps, a secret ancient dummy clip technique that allows me to loop a sample that is currently playing at a set length (i.e. 1 bar, 1/2 bar...) without the song proceeding until I stop the looping, preferably at the press of a button. N...

Re: Anyone familiar with Guitar Rig and MIDI messages??

Okay so I figured out how to get Guitar Rig to receive MIDI messages from the pedals... it was pretty obvious, just had to put the Guitar Rig in a MIDI track. Problem is its on a MIDI track and can't take the audio input from a guitar... so I could technically loop any MIDI instruments easily but no...

Anyone familiar with Guitar Rig and MIDI messages??

Hello hello, I'm having lots of trouble trying to map MIDI messages for Guitar Rig in VST mode in live. All I want to do is program two foot switches running through my edirol MIDI keyboard to 1. start and 2. stop the loop machine in Guitar Rig. Problem is, Guitar Rig won't MIDI learn anything I fee...

connecting the KAOSS pad...

A hardware newcomer humbly requests your assistance... So, having rarely worked with hardware effects, I find myself owning my first little bit of external fun... the KAOSS pad! Yet, I have hardly any idea how to get the audio running from ableton through the KP and back into the main mix... I'm usi...

Is there any difference in the Educational Version?

Simple question, in and out... Is the educational version of Live any different? Is there even such a thing as the educational version of Live, or is it just Ableton Live 7 with an educational discount? I'm a full time student looking to upgrade from LE 7 and I'm having trouble finding any explicit ...
