I use the consumer (less than $100) version of Vegas, and I have to say, it is really well put together, and very easy to use. So +1 for Vegas!

As much as I love impulse, Battery was the best investment I made aside from Ableton. There are some great options for drum samplers, but consider me a +1 for it's worth the money, easily.

My is a perfect fit in a Fender Carry Bag for Cyber Twin Foot Controller (check Musicians Friend, etc., runs about $40). Very nice bag, several FCB users turned me on to it.

Only SOS now, Computer Music a couple of years ago (good for beginners, though expensive in the states).
