I'm not saying relative modulation is crap. Just that if it needs to be sacrificed or regulated to special Modulation Devices, in order to overcome previous mentioned logic issues of recording mod into clips and mod data xfering from Arrangement to Session or giving a greater level of precision and ...

View/ Window preset "snapshots"

Just started getting into SAW Studio for my final mixdowns (once all my creative stuff is done in Live and Reason) and it is such a simple and useful thing to be able to go back and forth between window views and track zoom settings without mucking about.

just an idea..

another great addition to the whole concept IMHO would be a modulation tracking generator ala the EMU samplers. ie you could set up a random LFO going to pitch but limit the possible pitchs to octaves and fifths. Lots and lots of useful and weird things you can do. Could be set up as a simple graphi...

Frankly has anyone found the "relative" aspect of the clip envelopes to be really useful as opposed to having all envelopes be absolute? I can only see a few really useful results of this feature. If one is using the volume envelope within the clip to cut out or attunate sections of the au...

totally agree. been using SAW studio as my serious mixing/tracking DAW these days ( still do the creative work in Live/Reason then print and export tracks)and it has a similar way of working with automation. select a period of time on the track, tweak settings, and those settings are printed across ...

been wishing for these for a while. one of the reasons I still use Reason so much is due to these functions.

i just upgraded to live 5.0 and tap tempo is working very crappy now. don't know if this has something to do w/ my still tweaking the latencey setting or what. i use live in a live band environment and usually tap constantly to ride the drummers tempo through sections where i am useing loops. in 3.0...

off to the races indeed. i just upgraded both apps and it is beautiful. especially seeting up multiple Live tracks going to the same combinator and useing one for notes and one to control those ultra progamable combinator knobs. gotta love being able to affect multiple parameters by diff amounts. he...

[quote="hoffman2k"] Yep an old trick. But most Live users i come across. Are not aware of this. And in addition to the method in Live 4. In 5 you can export tracks with the automation saved. Definitely worth repeating  [quote] could you clarify this? export them to where? other live ...

an intelligent deconstruction of zeds comments

It's pretty easy to see why zed's opinion of the update is low. Firstly he doesn't use live to it's full potential. he doesn't use it in a live realtime fashion. therefore the ability to use a midi live in the same brilliant way you can use audio live would not impress him. he seems to prefer writin...

THe Frosted one....

I was at this demo and was less than impressed. If i was doing a demo I'd really show off Live by having some sort of live instrumentalist or vocalist and playing realtime looping games. Or even a improvised live remix of a well known tune. Hell, what about inviting people to bring their own loops t...

Midi notes to FX plugins in Live 4? Pluggo Compatibility?

Just wondering if you can send midi note messages to FX plugins in Live 4.
Also has the addition of midi and VSTi support improved the compatibility of pluggo?

Hopefully on the M-Audio website. Haven't been able to work on it much lately. My gf and I are moving and a couple days later I'm taking off to vegas to check out a band I might be joining. Writing technical instructions is a pain in the ass too. hard to keep it from being confusing or boring. I nee...
