PT vs Live
PT LE (mostly) does not need plug-in delay compensation. Details here: http://akmedia.digidesign.com/support/docs/Delay_Comp_PT_Host_Systems_33000.pdf And the last time I tried my Waves Linear EQ plug-in in Live, it created a horribly unusable delay. I think there is a limit to how much delay they c...

Question
On the LX2, if you use one of the buttons with LED to trigger a clip - does the LED light up when the clip is playing and go out when it stops?

I noticed it, but I'm not a member of the church of Mac. For years Apple had all these (highly questionable) comparisons of their G processors versus PC and how much faster they were. RISC supercomputer Altivec Dual processor knock your socks off computing power... Now they have Intel versus G4 com...

So, Abe, This sounds like the classic latency issue. Why are you trying to compensate for latency for monitoring during recording?!? Don't do that! During recording, what we really want is a zero-latency path from input to output. All of us computer-audio types know about this and expect that we wil...

I was running a Live session for my live keyboards on my PB 1GHz. I had two FM7s, plus two audio inputs (MOTU 896) all running through their own extensive FX chains (4x filter, mda distortion, grain delay, filter again, chorus, ping-pong delay) with MIDI controls (remote 25, pcr 50, peavey 1600) for...

I would give it a try with the 828. Set up a send in Live and route it to the behringer - then bring the behringer back in through another input. Set the Behringer to full wet and use the return channel to adjust your wet/dry mix. You probably won't care too much about latency for delay and reverb e...

Best auto-filter plug-in?
I'm looking for a basic auto-wah plug-in to use with Live - would like something with more control than the Ableton plug (threshold, envelope controls, maybe even a wet/dry mix...)
Something for general mangling too...
What are your favorites?

I finally got around to hooking up my laptop to my MOTU 896 and runnign Live - worked flawlessly - and I've always loved the feature set on that box - XLR io, meters for everything on the front panel, mic pres on all 8 ins, attenuator knobs for every input, mic/line switches on every in and out, pha...

I'm not sure there is a precise way to do this. I can tell you that it will take about 1/3 mS to send a MIDI clock tick message down a wire - a MIDI note on message takes about 1 mS. So I would expect that you'll have to set the latency on the master to be at least 1/3 mS longer than the slave. Othe...

not too familiar with arrangement view, but it seems to me that you need to put the second track next to the first one so that they are playing back at the same time, send track one to the house and track two to your headphones, do your warping, then slide the second clip so that it overlaps the fir...
