Hi Gabi Cheers for the knob smoothness tip ( ) good point, i took it apart myself when the second input flaked out on me, i shall try reseating(ahem)... Machinesworking: awesome tip too! Will try automating live effects applied to the simultaneously tweaked xstation synth output! Applied versi...

Hi Gabi Glad it worked:) Sadly i don't think this is possible as the XS isn't Multitimbral, you can only access one Patch at a time on one Midi track. Unless i've got my wires crossed with what you are trying to achieve? How are the Pots on yours? Mine vary a lot in how easy they are to turn. Apart ...

Hi Gabster Sure you can... Go into the track properties, In the "Notes" section make sure "Bank"=None, "Sub Bank"=2, "Program"= XStation synth patch number,ie 1 =100, 3=102 etc. As soon as you hit play on the track the patch should change on ye XStation... Hop...

You mean using windows group policy replacing the Windows "Shell" with Ableton loading instead? from an earlier tweaking thread http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9809&highlight=gpedit As I wait for beta 5, i'll post a tweak I use live... More of a Window$ tweak than a Live t...

Ah yes,the IPS,remember being in awe when i saw that, really very advanced for the time and now for that matter :) Cubase seemed to survive pretty well when it went to Mac and PC,but Notator lost the plot when they migrated, ditching the pattern approach and copying Cubase. Both approaches complimented...

Midi Delay plugin

Hello I'm an old crumbly who started out using Notator on the Atari, now,Live is the first PC sequencer that really takes the Notator approach to looping(and wipes the floor with it in most other areas i might add)with different sequence lengths creating complex polyrhythms.Try creating a bassdrum cl...

The think i like about Ambiloop,is the ability to have for e.g. the last note in a loop "overlap" into the beginning,it just sounds more natural and satisfying, espeically with long sustained guitar figures than "linear" loops.

Sniffio,as a proof of concept have you checked out Ambiloop?(pc only sadly)which lets you do just this!Even better its free at the mo,look for the Yahoo group for it and get the Beta Asio version: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ambiloop/ If the Dev could make a VST of it then i would never have to le...

Cool idea,i can just imagine a folder full of preset/storable envelope shapes(ie sine shaped 1 bar/2 bar lengths etc) that you could then drag and drop onto the clip?!

Program change and Impulse

Please can we have ability to assign drumkits to individual clips?(Ie like we already can with VSTis)

I play out tomorrow(eek!)and part of the time i could be tweaking/staring out at confused faces will be spent remembering that two scenes down the line is a drumkit change!

Cheers!

reverse for midi clips!!

First of all congrats to the developers for a fantastic job on Live4! Now we have it for audio how about for Midi too? Or a plugin that creates a mirror-image of the notes on the piano roll and transforms them accordingly?(If that makes any sense?)Sounds silly but there used to be a prog called &quo...
