Re: My Windows 7 experience
my experience on win7 vs xp is really good on my desk pc: my test was done with the standard live latency test from the forum, but duplicating channels until i could have it working without any crackling, here are the results: on XP: 40 tracks at 98% with 1024 buffer on win7 44 tracks at 96% with 51...

Re: Help with final Mastering steps in Live
this is on a clip basis, just turn off the warp button. of course if you want to use mixed warped / unwarped material at the same time, the project tempo should be set to the unwarped track original tempo to have the warped material playing at the same tempo of the original one. (but this is not the...

Re: Help with final Mastering steps in Live
can't you just disable warping ?
this way you are not bound to the project tempo anymore,
PLUS
doing such a delicate job as "mastering" you should always disable it, because it will inevitably create little artifacts and alter the dinamics.

Re: Am I the most retarded here? (Blue Hand matters)
it's like saying "these 8 rotary will always control the 8 rack knobs of the device i'm gonna click on" then the blue hand of god tells you that your 8 rotary are touching the specified device. of course you can lock it to a specific device as said before. i actually find it useful only if...

Re: How did you learn ableton live?please share your story.
I like to think inside the box so I wondered what it would be like to actually be a clip in Live. If you can visualise then you can contextualise. So I made a box like a 3d clip, and orange one, then i made loads of empty boxes and arranged them in a grid. Then i climbed inside my orange one and ha...

Re: Famous Artists that use Ableton...?
a part from the artists listed into the official section.. i can tell that a good 90% of the LIVEACT i have attended around europe were based on ableton, some complemented with real drum machines or synths, some other just with a midi controller I don't know whether to laugh or cry.  am ...

absolutely yes.
akai quality is great.
and also i founds myself not using so much the clip grid as of now.. but the whole track selection sends, device encoders a lot during production!

Re: quickly toggle global quantization on/off
while making some further test i noticed that the CTRL+4 shortcut bevahes differently if a clip is selected, or not, disabling the grid if the clip is selected, or disabling the launch quantization if the selection is not on the clip view but somewhere in the session view. so i guess that things get...

quickly toggle global quantization on/off
is there an easy way to do so? midi mapping the dropdown is not a soluton because i just need to switch it off for a small amount of time, then re-enabling it, restoring the value previously selected. there's a keyboard shortcut (CTRL+4) so i guess the only slution is to use a mmidi translator like ...
