Like I said, I'm not the best person to inform on the subject, my only experience was on one machine with the L6 demo.
So let us know what you find.

All I know is that on my wifes core 2 duo machine, if I keep throwing reverbs at Live, I can get up to 190% on the Live meter before the program begins to stutter and stop working.
Looking at the cpu manager of the mac at the same time, each core is reading at roughly 80%.

did it myself, from that company, 30$ 2 day turnaround, easy to replace. Just go slow and take your time getting it open. There's a really good walkthrough video on Youtube on how to do it.
