I love Fm8 and use it all the time, if you've never programed an fm synth before, it would behoove you to spend some time reading the manuel, as it's very rewarding to create your own sounds in it. And I'd like to mention that Operator, although a different sounding beast altogether, is also a reall...

I love mine, it's a zero. the automapping is awesome, (although you can still map manually with live.) It's also really great to have those big LEDs to give you feedback about the paramater you're moving, really great for the mixer section, and with L7 the auto name feature of Live when dragging in ...

let us know, I'd be interested to know your experience.
Like I said, I'm not the best person to inform on the subject, my only experience was on one machine with the L6 demo.
So let us know what you find.

All I know is that on my wifes core 2 duo machine, if I keep throwing reverbs at Live, I can get up to 190% on the Live meter before the program begins to stutter and stop working.
Looking at the cpu manager of the mac at the same time, each core is reading at roughly 80%.

in my experience of putting the live demo on my wifes dual core macbook, I saw 50% on the live meter and in the system memory usage both cores were at 25%. So it seems live only monitors one core for the meter. I seemed to confirm this by throwing reverbs at the dual core up to 200% on the live mete...

yes, I have to agree. Although I don;t always follow that advice I certainly should. my first album is all on atari cubase floppies and a series of 100meg EMU formatted scsi drives, and the recording is on many reels of Ampex 1 inch some of which need syncing together to get >16 tracks. Talk about ...

Thanks guys, yeah I was just digging the new features so much and really loving 7 that I kinda felt that I should give it my all to try and actually "test" as much as possible. No worries though, I've had my first crash and sent it to ableton. :D Although I suspect that Reaktor was the cul...

Question about better beta testing.

OK, so I didn't want to clog up the beta forum with non-bug talk so.... I'm currently in the beta pool and I'd like to ask some of our more seasoned beta testers how you go about trying to find buggy behavior. I've been doing everything that I normally do, and attempting to work with features that I...

You are now in the beta pool. If the next update is another beta, then you're current beta serial will work for that. If it goes to release, then the release is usually available within 24 hours. IME. It won't be like, OK, beta testing is done, now wait 2 weeks for the release. But, to be safe if yo...

This woman is very lucky not to have died of a lightning strike, and to be the new character in an Aphex Video.

did it myself, from that company, 30$ 2 day turnaround, easy to replace. Just go slow and take your time getting it open. There's a really good walkthrough video on Youtube on how to do it. I'm about a 2 on a scale of 1-10 on techy kinda stuff, so, if you can jumpstart a car or wire up a home studio...

Kontakt not so. There you want less instances, but can push the polyphony more.
good point.
