Re: 25% off upgrading = Live 9 announcement in early 2011?
Sorry to sidetrack. I'm tempted to get max 4 live with this discount period... The discount on M4L leads me to believe that they will be including it with Live 9 Suite or at least some sort of M4L runtime. Any thoughts on that? That would definitely be worth the upgrade price I would think. ...yes ...

Re: Question for ableton staff
@sublimelobc The big noticeable difference for me is the huge amounts of time saved by not having to do "fresh installs" of an operating system and then all the software. ... you can reduce this time to virtually zero (i.e. ~5 minutes) by making a disk-image once you have set up your syste...

Re: midi is out of date or Live need to slew data
when sending MIDI between different programms via virtual MIDI-cables (e.g. midiyoke) the MIDI-bandwith limitation (31k/s) is obviously irrelevant (which does not mean there are no limitations)
Use one of the common MIDI-Monitor programms to find out, what is actually going on.

...yes, indeed!
No idea what is the hidden secret of Live and the Mousewheel
And I promise, if they don't address this in the next release, I will do it myself !

Re: midi assignable shortcuts !!!
come on guys, we can't even assign undo to a midi controller, shame on you! .. yes indeed ! And BTW, a more flexible approach to Editing-history and Undo would all too often be a real life(live)-saver. Simple options what to put in the history or what do undo ! Sigh! Another hope for Max4Live .....

Re: Access midi map-savings
...yes, too many times i got annoyed about that. This is bar none the single feature i NEED most!!
But, alas, i only own LiveLite, so not too much to control anyway.
And with time you can become quite proficient in mapping controllers.
Meanwhile i can do it almost with closed eyes at 100 BPM

Re: Modyfing my Midi mapping Table
... because you can't!nobody ???
A very serious shortcoming, at least for me. Apparently not so for most Live-users, but it kept me from upgrading so far.
Looks like we have to wait for Max4Live. Hope they will do their homework then...

Re: Why no MIDI-Programchanges in Live?? Any answers?
I consider the concept of program changes a relict from hardware devices which was necessary due to the limited number of MIDI channels. With software DAWs program changes are (a) not needed as you can have a virtually unlimited number of instrument tracks, and (b) not reliable with respect to timi...

Re: Why no MIDI-Programchanges in Live?? Any answers?
How do you expect that to work? Let's say your first program is A and the second one is C. If you change to program 2 you will get "C". In the meantime you add program "B", mean that NOW program 2 will mean "B" instead of "C" formerly. As long as there is no ...

Why no MIDI-Programchanges in Live?? Any answers?
there was a bit of discussion around this topic recently, but it mainly evolved in the direction of eventual workarounds. But nobody afaik has even a hint about the question: Why there are no MIDI-programchanges in Live?? I mean, when our forefathers invented MIDI back in the Stoneages they thought ...
