you can turn the grid off in live if you like. also you can bounce down any number of effects or audio in any desired combination. i suggest spending more time with live before jumping on someting else otherwise you may miss alot of its potential in the end

no. unforunately cubase will only rewire as a master application not a slave. you will have to export your cubase tracks and move them into live.
