Re: Push 3 ASIO Driver Issues

OK. After a week away from home with my computer and Push switched off, I switched Push on today. It works! I started Live with the audio engine disabled, because that's how I left it when it wouldn't work last week. Chose the Push ASIO driver, selected and started no problem. 96k with a 512 sample ...

Push 3 ASIO Driver Issues

I've just had a new Push 3 (controller only version) delivered this evening and plugged it in, let it update firmware etc. It totally refuses to use the ASIO driver in Live. Selecting it results in a "failed to open the audio device Ableton Push" message. Push driver is the requisite 5.50....

Re: VST3 in Drum Rack cannot receive MIDI

The VST plugin by Blue Cat Audio called "Patchwork" gets round this problem. You would host your Roland plugin in that and it behaves nicely with Live and shows all its MIDI channels. It's about $90 though. I investigated another VST host plugin, something open source called "Carla&qu...

Re: Simpler--Changes the sound dramatically--normal?

This is still a thing. What I expect from Simpler is that it simply plays back a sample when it does actually change a lot of qualities of the playback. If not the Sampler, this is at least what i expect from the Simpler. Even when turning off filters, warp, LFO, and fades. What is strange to me is...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

Most obscure Ableton Live knowledge - REX files. Does anyone still use them? I had watched a video on Youtube a few days ago from Stranjah about cutting up breaks. He's well worth watching if you like Youtube tutorial content in my opinion. I've had an interest in looping breakbeats for 30+ years an...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

Just to add, I tested Cardinal running in a CarlaVST instance in Live 11 and it was crashing straight away. The Carla VST3 plugin (windows 64 bit) did not play well with Live at all, no matter which plugin it was hosting. The standalone version of Carla fares better.

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

I'd probably add to my own post above, 128 notes and 128 CC's is sometimes enough. With a bit of filtering and transposing you can fit quite a lot into one channel of MIDI.

No worries. Should be good once you get the regular analogue cable.

Re: Push 3 Optical ADAT Output to Denon Receiver

Your receiver would be expecting a SPDIF format signal. Push is outputting an ADAT signal. Same cable, two different formats. Can Push be set to output SPDIF in the settings somewhere? [edit: No.]

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

Obscure tid-bit: Ableton Live does not support routing multiple MIDI output channels from a single VST. You can get round this with Blue Cat Audio Patchwork. It's a VST host that also runs as a plugin. It exposes 16 channels of MIDI to Live. That's how I've run Cardinal, the VCV Rack alternative ve...
