I've heard bass's thru the DI and it sounds great. Never tried or heard guitars thru it but I'm sure it would make a great front end for clean guitar or before amp simulation stuff. Vocals of course with a little touch of LA is always good.

I've had so many issues with their midi device drivers that I gave up on them. I had considered the 410 but too have seen many people with issues as well as my midi issues I had. If you're considering the 410 I'd look to the Edirol FA101 and for the 1814 you're very close in price to the MOTU 828mk2...

I'd like to have more midi fx/tools possibly the abilty to use those that already exist such as in Sonar. One in particular is to create lo and hi key splits so that the lower register can play bass lines of one vst/au and the upper register can play lead/melody lines. Something lacking in todays US...

The biggest issue you'll have with a rack is the possibility of agp/pci cards coming loose from the slot.
