PGM Changes on MIDI tracks with monitoring on IN?
Hi everyone, I'm working on a live set where I would like Ableton to handle changing patches on my hardware synths and software instruments. Currently, I am using a MIDI track with monitoring set to IN (rather than AUTO) as I want this track to always react to my playing the controller (a Moog Sub 3...

Re: Delete time on a single channel? Move discrete chunks en masse?
Just chiming into this thread to echo that a "Delete time" for individual tracks would be a real time saver for a lot of the work I do (1-stop shop dialogue editing, sound design, and music service for podcasts and other audio recordings). Otherwise, I have to do all of my dialogue editing...

Re: Overdubbing/capturing MIDI CC with EXT Instrument in Arrangement view
when you say working with audio you mean an audio file? if so in this case you dont arm the audio track (meaning no input on track )and then press record and automate the midi. You dont necessarily need midi arrangement overdub on using this particular process. Precisely, I mean an audio file. I ha...

Re: Keep default shortcuts regardless of language?
In case anyone is stumbling onto this thread, I did get in touch with tech support who confirmed this is a known bug on some languages. Here's what they responded: Hello there, I am Riccardo from the Tech Support Team. Thanks for contacting us. I am sorry to hear about your issue. We are aware of a ...

Re: Overdubbing/capturing MIDI CC with EXT Instrument in Arrangement view
have you tried midi arrangement overdub on and press normal (arrangement) record? not session record Hi Trevbo, thanks for this. It's the obvious answer, and I try it all the time. Sometimes it works, and sometimes no. I am 100% sure I tried it last night and it wasn't working. Today, 1-click, and ...

Overdubbing/capturing MIDI CC with EXT Instrument in Arrangement view
Hi everyone, I keep running into issues where I have a hard time overdubbing MIDI CC data on existing clips in Arrangement view (but works totally fine in Session view). In this example, I want to overdub or "perform" the filter cutoff of my Arturia Microfreak (CC#23) which is transmitting...

Drumkit record button bug?
Hi all! Let me start by saying I'm new to Push (about a month) but have been producing with Ableton for close to 2 years and in other DAWs for over 10. I may be doing something wrong, but suspect I may have found a bug. When working with this Beastly Drumkit (one of the stock Ableton kits I believe)...

Going from Arrangement view back into Session view?
Ableton workflow question: I'm working on a podcast, so it's not quite the same workflow as music. I'm trying to find a quick and easy way to "move sections" of my arrangement view project into Session view in order to rearrange my podcast. I've had to make a bunch of cuts to delete breath...

Re: Color-coded locators
You can use any emoticon in Locator names (and elsewhere) . Right-click to rename the Locator then hit Win+. (Windows key and period) to open the icon list. Not sure how this works on Mac. You've got coloured shapes and all the rest. You can mix icons and text or whatever you want. The same thing w...

Re: Color-coded locators
Also going to +1 this. Right now, I'm going back to Reaper for the coloured regions which help quickly identify sections; very practical for larger projects like podcasts. But Ableton is a much better creative tool (which I count on, because I'm often also doing the music for these projects). Renami...
