Hm. pc, only?. I've tried to make a copy of the application file, and I can indeed open a second instance on the macbook, although it complain that there is another rewire master install. I could get them to sync via iac or something. So it should be possible to implement on a mac too.

Yes, with the reservation that not many au/vst are universal binary yet, and that your audiocard needs a universal driver. I plan to take the macintel plunge quite soon, anyway.

As a psychogist, I worked as a drug and alcohol councellor/therapist for 7 years. Some of my experiences. (1) to stop or control? Research indicated that conctrolling works for some and stopping totally works best for some. Conctrolled drinking is not inpossible: it's just simpler for the majority t...

Stricly speaking: no But by using soundflower (from cycling74.com) as audio output in garageband, and as audio input in live, you can stream 16 track (if i remember correctly) into live, and record them there as audio. From Live you can then edit and You can't sync the two apps, though. So the garag...

Live keeps un-registering

On my G5, Live seems to lose it's unlock data. It is the second time this happened to me on this machine. I have to register all over again. I worry about running out of registrations. I haven't done anything except repair permissions, diskwarrior and techtool. Could that be the cause of it?

i use 256 or 512, I can't remember what that latency that gives. On a one-year old aluminium PB. If the you get crackling and 30cpu. I aggree, that it sound very much like to low latency. For ultra-effective reverb, try wavearts masterverb. Sound pretty good at the lowest cpu use I've seen on a mac....

Phatmatik is great: but the thing with guru is that it is a musical instrument to be used, abused and played with. Still, Phatmatik is perfect as a slicer, and works great with live. I also like to minimize my setup. But the directness of guru combined with a microkontrol or a triggerfinger is to mu...

What I like about guru is not so much the sound-bank; although it is great. It is the play-ability of guru that grabs me. the simplicity of mangling sounds, good effects, the ease of shifting beats for grooves, repetitions, filters. Also the ease of improvising with it. It is not only a drum sound t...

Guru doesn't slice files, it uses the regular wav file and slices on the spot. Resampling in live is a much better way. Or record a file with one pad sound following one another, with some silence in between, and then use audiofinder (if you are on a mac) to chop it up automatically into small files...

I've got it now. And it works wonderfully. It has the same sense of being an instrument and not an app. that live has. Both the vst and au works, even though angus of fx recommends the vst for live
